“Before joining WW, there wasn’t a day that I didn't stop at a drive-thru of some sorts – whether I was getting a full meal or a sugar-filled coffee. And I rarely moved my body. I’d be lucky if I got a few thousand steps in a day. I was tired all the time.
I’ve seen what bad health looks like generationally, so I knew I needed to make a change. My why when I started my journey and today is my health. I spend every day working towards a healthier body and mind.
Now I wake up feeling energized and ready to move. My favorite non-scale victories are the numbers I see after riding my Peloton. Five years ago, if someone told me that I’d be an athlete, I never would have believed them.
My eating habits have also changed: I rarely have a meal without at least one serving of veggies. And I always have my go-to foods stocked in the kitchen. Every morning I drink 32 oz of water – no matter if I’m home or somewhere else. Even if I have a bad meal or day of eating, I always get back on track for the next meal. It’s incredible how far you can get if you just don't quit!
I’ve learned to stop letting the scale determine my success. When my weigh-in day rolls around – before I step on the scale – I think about all the wins I’ve had that week, everything that I’m proud of doing. The scale is an extra piece of data and will always catch up.”

“Before starting my journey, my body hurt all the time and, honestly, I lived my life on the couch. I drank and ate whatever I wanted without giving it a second thought. Now I use the recipe builder in the WW app to find ways to make my comfort foods for fewer PersonalPoints™. That tool and my ZeroPoint™ foods have been total lifesavers.
The other big change for me has been my activity. I always push myself to find ways to be more active – I choose parking spots that are further away when I go to the store and make extra trips up and down the stairs. In fact, just being able to walk up a flight of stairs again is a major non-scale victory for me. And tying my shoes!
I’ve learned that this journey isn’t a race or something temporary. The changes I’ve made will be part of my routine for the rest of my life. And even though I’ve made real progress, slip-ups still happen. Instead of getting caught up in an all-or-nothing mentality, I track and keep it moving!”

Your weight-loss journey might be a lot of things (life-changing, messy, rewarding, frustrating), but one thing it’s not? A solo mission.
Here at WW, we talk a lot about community and for good reason: “Science has shown that when you have people in your corner, it helps in weight- and wellness-specific ways,” explains Dr. Gary Foster, Ph.D., WW chief science officer.
And the research doesn’t lie: People with social support are…
✔️ more likely to lose weight
✔️ less likely to regain weight or go back to unhealthy behaviors
More of an introvert? That’s cool too. You don’t need an IRL crew to reach your goals. Instead, build your network via podcasts, blogs, or social media. (Yes, science is saying it’s OK to keep scrolling!) Just seeing other people’s posts can be helpful and affirming, Foster says.

The biggest learning in recent times was number 11 for me
…work in progress
I ran out of space in the image, and wanted to add:
12 You respect & listen to others opinions - instead of calling it misinformation or hating them for thinking differently
13 You question your own beliefs to understand if you formed them from proper information (or from someone that told you about it)
14 You choose collaboration & togetherness over segregation
15 You understand that life can be hard, and instead of being depressed or becoming overly emotional - you understand this is part of life, you smile and figure the best way around the issue
What would you add?
Tim💚

🎉How many of you have ever competed in any fitness competitions???
I’m so Blessed and Grateful for these photos and to be able to look back to 2018 when I was prepping for my Figure and Bikini
competitions!🎉
I really enjoyed training for these competitions as it pushed me to desire more and to see where I can take my body! #persistence#faith#hardwork#nevergiveup#mindset
I haven’t competed since 2019 and I’m not sure if I will again - but I will never say never! 🤷🏻♀️
If you have a dream or desire to do something in life, take a leap of faith and figure it out!
Sidenote, I was truly blessed and grateful for the people who inspired me, assisted me and help me to get to this point…
I was also having issues with my left Glute muscle so I ended up seeing Margal Medical in Leominster where they were able to assist me for my upcoming competitions.

💖 Self love Sunday 💖
In clinic this week, recognising the need for self love and caring for oneself was a common theme.
Over Christmas and New Year, many of us felt that we had fell off the "bandwagon" and indulged a little "too much" - this is completely ok! Too many of us make ourselves feel guilty for just... living a life.
Forgive and be kind to yourself ❤️
I believe it IS a form of self love when you listen to your body and recognise when you do not have the capacity to do everything, and letting go when you need to.
When you're feeling demotivated and low, reserve your precious energy for the essentials. Grab a takeaway and relax, it's going to be fine.
Living well is not straightforward. It's a wobbly journey and full of peaks and troughs! It's not easy to be 💯 all the time. When you feel a wobble coming on, know that you can pick yourself back up again, and again. The more you do it, the more you will bounce back. You are strong and resilient.
When you feel low, I would like you to think about how you feel and what you think your body needs. Write it all down. How does the food you are eating make you feel? Do certain foods energise you or deplete you? Simply having an awareness of how foods make you feel in the moment, helps you make better choices later.
Once you have an understanding of what nourishes you, use food as a tool for self-love. Feed yourself the food your body deserves and needs, because you are worthy. Cook yourself a delicious and nutritious meal and enjoy it! Love your body and all it does for you, because it's the only one you have.
Here for you if you need me.
Lots of love, Laura 💖
