@archives.nia smashed it at Glastonbury
The jungle revivalist writes great songs which blend heartwarming neo-soul, catchy hooks and poignant lyrics with hard-hitting jungle and drum’n’bass.
She hasn’t been to many festivals yet and this year – believe it or not – marked her first-ever Glasto.
Nia played three sets at the festival, so naturally we had to go down and see her!

@marcjacobs: The Extended Cut 🪒
While the knotted jumpers and microscopic bikini tops at Marc Jacobs' FW22 show got everyone talking, the sci-fi hairstyles topped the lot.
Every model rocked a Blade Runner style barnet, with a bowl-cut fringe, bleached brows, shaved sides and long locks at the back.
Not to be a buzzkill, but @gigihadid and @bellahadid didn't actually get the chop. Instead, they wore a mixture of ingenious prosthetics and clever styling by @duffy_duffy.

Go Tokyo! For our summer issue, friend of THE FACE @alexleese shot this summer's wildest beauty trends styled on East Asian teens.
Inspired by the work of Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki – who’s work straddles eroticism and technicolor youth culture – Leese rounded-up her friends to reflect her creative team’s experiences of being an awkward teenager.
"With the amazing eye of the team, we created characters based on each individual’s personalities and drew inspiration from subcultures or trends from our teenage years and also our backgrounds, like emo, grunge, Japanese street style and so on," she told THE FACE.

@temsbaby just made history!
Our latest cover star has won Best International Act at this year’s BET Awards, making her the first female musician from Nigeria to win the category.
The singer went on to dedicate the award specifically to young women striving to achieve their dreams: “I want you to imagine yourself as me because you are meant to be here too. I am dedicating this to every single young woman, artiste, and everybody that is striving and dares to dream. Get up from your seat, go for your dream and fight for yourself. You can do it; you can be here too,” she said.
For our cover interview, @olivepometsey speaks to her about the rise of gender equality in the afrobeats scene 🔗

After a three-year runway break, the Nigerian-born, London-based designer is back with her Paris Fashion Week debut.
Marking her first move after leaving Yeezy Gap, Mowalola Ogunlesi took to Paris' Élysée Montmartre performing arts theatre. The show, styled by @lottavolkova, leant into the Y2K aesthetic, from low-rise trousers to ultra mini skirts and a tank top that would make Regina George jealous.
Referencing thieves, face masks and hoods, the collection had a dystopian feel.
What else made its debut on the Paris runway? The Mowalola x New Balance sneaker collaboration.

Glastonbury stand up
Whilst making a righteous debut at Glastonbury, @oliviarodrigo and special guest @lilyallen protested the court's decision to overturn the landmark Roe vs Wade case, ending the country’s constitutional right to abortion.
“I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the supreme court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a shit about freedom. The song is for the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you! We hate you.” Rodrigo says before singing ‘Fuck You’ with Lily Allen.
One of the UK's Biggest, Brightest Things: @marlisiu | A veteran of the achingly-long 14-hour Megabus from Aberdeen to London for auditions, actor Marli Siu learnt to be "scrappy" to get herself noticed.
After getting her degree in English and Drama at Edinburgh University, Siu’s first job at a local theatre led her to breakthrough both on screen and stage. Last November, she won Best Actress from Bafta Scotland for her role in indie drama Run.
Now, she's just appeared in the BBC adaptation of Dolly Alderton’s bestselling novel Everything I Know About Love. No crystal ball needed: she's going to be mega.

Getting the Stone Island badge in isn’t daft, it’s art. 🧭
We're all going loco for the logo right now. Drake’s a fan, Liam Gallagher often opts for a head-to-toe stage get-up, and Dua Lipa paired a cargo vest with a Valentino-pink bikini just the other week.
While the pricey label was once worn by football hooligans to suggest they were anything but, it's now a badge of honour, with footie fans desperately attempting to angle the badge into photos, symbolising they aren’t to be messed with.
Now, it's spawned memes from accounts like Twitter sensation @badge_is_in, who gave us this advice: "You’ve got to have that winning mentality that when the pressure is on and you’ve only got a split second to pose, the badge has to be in.”

Today is a dark day in the history of women's rights.
Following on from May's leaked document, Roe v Wade has just been officially overturned by the Supreme Court.
It means that the right to choose to have an abortion is no longer protected by the constitution, but decided by individual states.
The ruling means it's likely that almost half of US women will be restricted or banned from having an abortion.
It's a horrific reminder that the worst possible political events - once thought impossible - can happen.
We stand in solidarity with the abortion clinics now facing closure across the US. The power to choose is a human right.
Ah, the Great British Festival.
Getting pissed in a field is officially back for summer 2022.
From moshers to drum and bass heads to rap fans, here’s what the youth will be wearing at Wireless, Latitude, Reading and Leeds and more. We told you subcultures aren’t dead! 🔗

Virgil lives in LV forever.
For the fashion house's SS23 show, @louisvuitton laid out a curved yellow pathway and pulled out all the stops, opening with a turbo-charged performance from band @marching100.
Painting Paris with a playpark palette of purples, yellows and greens, the show continued Virgil's vision with oversized overcoats and nostalgic, naive motifs.
Then, came @kendricklamar - performing live while sitting down next to none other than @naomi - freestyling while watching the models walk along the cartoon yellow runway.
It was an ode to endless imagination, made in Virgil's image.

@williamstrobeck, @supremenewyork’s favourite videographer, has a killer instinct when it comes to spotting new talent.
This year, he decided to start his own company and break the hard-entrenched rules of skateboarding in the process.
“[Violet] feels very feminine and masculine at the same time, and that’s what I want. I don’t want it to feel like we’re a bunch of bros,” he tells @jadewickes.

Beware: summer is all about the feral girl, the ratgirl and, if you’re bold, the girlboss cannibal.
If the algorithms and trend pieces are correct, 2022 will replace the hot girl’s waxed ‘n’ vaxxed seamless perfection with a sloppy, chaotic and faintly debauched figure. Appetite rules in 2022, and bodies must be fed.
