This week, @thefacemagazine is marking tomorrow’s two-year anniversary of the UK’s first lockdown with Generation Covid, a week-long series looking at how life has changed for young people.
Yesterday, we had @ciaranthapar talking to @craigmclean00 about the impact on at-risk youth.
And today, we’ve published the results of our survey of people aged 14-23. Our findings? Two thirds of young people miss lockdown, three quarters say the pandemic has had a negative impact on their mental health, and lots of people got into knitting.
On 26th February, we also hit the streets in four corners of the UK to talk to young people about how their lives have been impacted by the pandemic. Covering all the home nations – Sheffield in England, Belfast in Northern Ireland, Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and Helmsdale in Scotland – each report reveals a different facet of the challenges presented by Covid.
Check it all out via the link in my bio and keep your eyes peeled for more as the week goes on 👀
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our survey. Your answers made us laugh and even well up a little bit. The future is in good hands.

“You see all these boys who do whatever they’re doing. But they’ve got girlfriends, they’ve got sisters, they’ve got mums or aunties, they have women in their life.”
Ahead of the new series of Top Boy, @littlesimz stepped behind the camera to photograph her formidable female costars in a shoot for @thefacemagazine.
I got to watch it all happen and chat to the incredible cast last week. See all the photographs and read the feature via the link in my bio.
Was truly a joy to chat to @originalkoffee for @esmagazine ahead of her debut (!!!) album. We covered everything from her Grammy win to reggae’s evolving sound. Grab yourself a copy for your commute tomorrow and Fri!
