“I don’t have time to workout” .. is what I hear THE MOST and I OVERSTAND . Sometimes it’s about using the time you DO have a little more efficiently, not everyone has 1-2hrs to make it to the gym .. sometimes it’s only 20min, and I got you with a few of my favorite ways to train that are good when you’re short on time! 👏🏽👇🏽
Circuit training: pairing a handful of exercises & performing back to back with little to no rest (until you’ve done each exercise). Not to be confused with HIIT.
EMOMS: every minute on the minute. I choose 2 moves that start at at the top of the minute, whatever time is remains is your “rest” & you alternate into the next move 😈 (pro tip: even numbers work best like 8/12/20 min)
AMRAPS: set the timer & 2-6 exercises performed back to back with no rest until the timer is up. Set a goal for how many rounds you want to complete.
Supersets/compound sets: both are two exercises paired together back to back. The difference is compound sets are two moves of the same muscle groups together (think bench press + push-ups) vs supersets are opposing muscle groups (bench press + bent over rows)
Tri sets: 3 exercises (usually the same muscle group/movement pattern) performed back to back with no rest between.

Don’t mind me, just reminiscing on our trip to Thailand 🥰 Now that I have a passport & been on a 15hr flight (twice) … I swear I just want to travel the world 😮💨. Our stay at the @hyattregencyphuket has set the new standard for resorts! The views, amenities, and food were amazing but the staff just really made it so memorable ♥️. She’s giving home chef! 💁🏽♀️ … leveling up one of my fav things for breakfast… HUEVITOS 🫶🏽. Keeping it on a paper plate cause less dishes is self-care! This was actually inspired by a breakfast my uncle made, but has quickly become my favorite way to incorporate leftover chicken (especially dry ass chicken like this loool 😩)
Chop up your fav veggies (literally anything, don’t be childish & eat your veggies pls), sauté them then add your eggs, cook til eggs are nearly done + add your chicken (I microwaved them quickly then let them finish warming in the pan). Serve with whatever you want, be cool & eat beans for breakfast 🤘🏽oh and, whatever you’re drinking, just put it in a wine glass .. makes it taste better 🤌🏽

Added a new step to my morning skin care routine: Willow Girl 👧🏽 . Kids watch everything you do, and want to join… just let them ✨. Yes it would be a lot faster & less messy doing stuff in your own, but one thing I’ve learned is letting them do all the things with you. Bonding time + them learning skills is a win win for everyone 🥰

When I see a Black woman share photos of herself and her newborn baby, my first reaction is to sigh in relief… then be happy, I wish it could be just happy. My first reaction is because I know that Black women are 3-5x more likely to die from a pregnancy, birth, or postpartum-related cause. The same knowledge I had going into labor with my first, and when I went for a VBAC 2.5 years later; both ending in c-sections.
As much as I’d love to feel like we’re safe and protected during such a vulnerable time in our life, but it’s just not always the case. Education and knowing resources available are empowering; they could also be life saving.
There’s much to be done, but I’d like to start where I always turn to: community. Tag birth workers, doulas, midwives, expecting mamas to be put in touch with each other to help make strides in a better direction ✨
