I’m about to start a 5 day online meditation retreat. I booted around like a madman in order to get everything done and head up to my cottage in time. 20 minutes before the retreat is starting, I just realized I forgot my meditation bench. Oof! It’s a literally the first time in 25 years that I forgotten THE most important item for a retreat. I’m laughing (a little bit) as its kind of the perfect entry point to practice. Signing off till Friday. See you on the flipside. 💜
Here's to the weekend, to new beginnings, to sunny days, to releasing resentments, to healing, to good friends, to gratitude.
What are you toasting to this weekend? 💜
I recently listened to a podcast where @elizabeth_gilbert_writer shared that when she first met @glennondoyle, one of the first things she said to her was something like, "Women have to often almost die in order to create the life that they want for themselves." I’m slightly botching that, but I totally get it. I've had to go through several periods of significant health deterioration to get to a place where I'm truly committed to building the life that I want. I'm excited and committed. I'm full of gratitude to be in a place where I can live out that vision. And I'm relieved to finally be here. Because living any other way is depleting. And honestly, whats the damn point? Tell me about the life YOU want to create for yourself. 💜

It's so easy to get caught up in the future and miss out on our present. Don't miss out on the life right in front of you. Don't dismiss how rich the process is and all you can learn from it. Tap into gratitude for what is right in front of you. Be here now. 💜
Those of you who know me, know that I've struggled with gratitude in the past. (And like everyone, I still do on some days....) It's not an easy thing to tap into when we're going through difficult times. I have learned that like anything, gratitude is a practice. This is the one that has been the most helpful in transforming my emotional state. We really do have a choice around what to focus our attention on. And gratitude can feel a little like magic. Give it a try and I'd love to hear what you're grateful for today. 💜
