Let’s talk squatting with scoliosis (us curvy spine queeensss)
- I never used to do squats in my workouts bc it never felt right, form was tricky, & one wrong move I was out of the gym for days. I finally started incorporating them, but taking things SLOW. Working on my form with light weight, & being very slow to add weight.
- With that came comments like “you’re not squatting low enough THAT DOESNT COUNT” to “WHERES THE WEIGHT? I can squat more than you😂” from people who think they know everything but truly don’t.. They don’t know my physical issues, they’re not my personal trainer… SO STOP GIVING OUT UNSOLICITED ADVICE IN THE COMMENT SECTION BC IT COULD LEAD TO INJURY, especially if you don’t know the persons body/ physical struggles..
- if you have scoliosis & receive comments like that, that make you feel frustrated bc you don’t squat XYZ or can’t go a$$ to grass.. Remember who cares what user1937474 thinks THIS IS YOUR JOURNEY NOT THEIRS & you don’t need to go a$$ to grass to target the glutes☺️, or lift super heavy. ESPECIALLY if you have scoliosis. FIRST priority is making sure your spine is ok!🫶🏻
