Times can be tough in the gym.
You can find yourself exhausted and wanting to give up. Yet that is part of what a gym does, to give you the depth to keep holding on, to keep going, to stay strong and grow strong.
This months challenge was to test yourself as to hold on, hang on in there. This was all about you against you. Keeping your leg in a single leg hip flexor isometric hold position.
For those of you who have ever tried this, its agony. Every second ticks by slowly as your leg gets heavier and heavier. You have to bite down and draw not only on physical strength, but mental grit. And the worst part of the challenge you don't know what target you have to reach. All of the Synergy ladies push themselves, so how long do you punish yourself for?
Yet in the end there is always only one, and this month it was Danielle Nevin. She dug deep in body and mind and keep holding on. In the end her time of 32s couldn't be matched and so she received her prize.
And what better twist of irony other than part of her prize is a foam roller to ease our those strained and tired muscles. All the while recovering with a little protein cookie and basking in the glow of her trophy!!!
Congratulations once again! Well done all.

Everyday activities are an opportunity to make things more challenging. By doing so, we give our bodies a chance to struggle, adapt, and grow. Comfort is a wonderful thing that we have more of than ever in history…but it’s a double edge sword.
Comfort can lead to complacency. Complacency can lead to laziness. Laziness leads to weakness.
If you desire to age in a way in which your mind and body are constantly challenged. Constantly evolving and adapting to new heights…more often than not, you have to choose challenge.
It’s the uncomfortable truth. Our bodies crave challenges…mentally and physically.
Choose the harder path sometimes.
👊Park your car in the farthest parking spot and walk.
👊Carry your loaded backpack one finger at a time. One fails, switch to another.
👊Carry the heavy box rather than using a dolly.
👊Play on the playground with your kids instead of watching.
Enjoy your comfort, but don’t forget to challenge yourself daily.
Your mind, body and spirit will thank you.
PS - carried this 5-7lb pack until this finger couldn’t hold any longer. Felt amazing...after!
