Loving this fresh cup of tea while watching a thunderstorm brewing, I can hear the thunder in the distance. It's pouring rain here. I love a good energy clearing storm. Tea Talk- Loving the process of creating for my little shop...coming soon. Putting years of experience, all my study into action. I have the courage and self confidence to finally put my work and creations out to be seen. In the Workshop again today. Just made a batch of soy candles. A few little bumps and one sink hole, will fix them up with the heat gun. Sweetpea and Vanilla fragrance. One of my top 5 fragrances. Spring is coming and this is a lovely sweet, floral fragrance. 🌱💐🌸🌼💐🌱 Working out which style of jar or bowls I'd like to sell. So these are all test candles. I used different jars. Got some bowls arriving later this week. I'll also do some one of kind candles using any interesting things I find at Op shops I'd like to end up with 5 styles, varying in size and price. 🍃🫖 Tea Time Tuesday 🫖🍃 English Breakfast Tea today. My favourite. Nice and strong. Tea Talk- Have you ever wanted to press pause on life? Just so you could catch your breath, process it all. I know we've all been through a lot the last few years. We are coping and doing the best we can. I love the quote, "The same hammer that shatters glass, forges steel." Life goes on, its always moving forward. It's important for us to take time out. To process, move through these times. Although, you can't pause life. You can take a few days to gather your thoughts, reflect and meditate. Have early nights, get a good rest, eat healthy, hydrate, spend time out in nature, stay offline, no tv, put your phone away and journal. Use the weekend or take a week off. Be kind to yourself, love yourself. Reach out for help. Talk to friends, family, or your doctor. You can also call Lifeline or Beyond Blue. You're not alone. I've made this a regular practice in my life the last 6 years. Taking a weekend or a week to process, reset and get back on track. It's a gift to yourself. It's healing, it's selflove, it's sitting still, taking a breath. 🍃💐 Workshop Wednesdays 💐🍃 Today I decided to make more Scented Wax Tablets. This time using a blend of 85% white beeswax and 15% Soy wax. I love how they look. They are a little softer than the yellow beeswax. I'll let them cure overnight and see how they feel after 24 hours. I made 2 with Lavender and Eucalyptus essential oil. 1 with Rose essential oil in jojoba oil. You can see it has a yellow tinge in the middle. I think Rose fragrance oil might work better. I love the silver eyelets on the white wax. Gold eyelets look good on beeswax. I used some home grown dried flowers. Other pretty flowers and leaves from @fionaariva Ha! Just noticed flower on heart wrong side up. I'll go fix that 😅😂🤭 I'm happy with the finished look. Once cured, I'll place them around the house to test how well they work. I'm going to try 100% white beeswax next week. To test how they set. 🍃🌼🌱 Spring Decorating 🌱🌼🍃 Tip - Shop in your home first. All the items in this photo have been gathered from within my home, except one. The beautiful leaf print tablecloth by @fledgeandthread is the only piece I've purchased. I absolutely love it. 😍 Keren's design s are beautiful. A pretty range to choose from. I also love the Lemon, Pear and Wild Rose designs. Look around your home. Gather the items and place them in the room your working on. Sit with them for a few days, until your happy with your choices. I'm still Spring cleaning. Washing lounge covers, bedding, tending to house plants, rearranging furniture, clearing out cupboards, airing rugs. Simplifying my home as I go. Packing up items to donate to charities. Once I've finished all rooms, I'll decorate. All botanical themed. Love bringing the elements of nature into my home. Choosing natural materials and recycling where I can. Wood, glass, bamboo, cotton, metal and linen. I make things myself too. Lanterns, candles, wreaths, decorations. Go with what you love. It doesn't have to be expensive or the latest fashion or trend. Follow your heart, decorate with colours and a theme you love. It's your space. Express yourself, your personality. 🍃💐🫖 Tea Time Tuesday 🫖💐🍃 Gathering decor to start decorating for Spring. Starting with floral arrangements. I love these faux Peonies and Californian Poppies. Keeping the colours simple. Greens, creams and splashes of pink. Botanical themed of course. 😉😃 Tea Talk - Sitting here sipping my tea. Thinking about choices I've made the last few days. Very proud of how I handled some problems. For years, I'd shut down, give up and see myself as a failure. Self Sabotage is something I've struggled with. I'd do really well for months, then go off track so bad, beat myself up with negative thoughts. I've been reading Small Habits for a Big Life - Release the self-sabotaging behaviour that is holding you back, one habit at a time. After 15 pages, my thought pattern changed for the better. By @drrebeccaray I've tried so many times to conquer my self sabotaging habits. This book has really kicked that habit. I now understand how it works. How I can change it now I'm aware of the signs. I've had a few failures the last week. Almost gave up on candle making over a few minor setbacks. Instead of giving up, I sat with my thoughts. Realised that I was letting my emotions controls me. I'm a failure, no good at anything, etc etc. Making a big deal out of tiny things that went wrong. I did some journal writing to clear my head. I then wrote a 3 step plan to stay on track. I researched how to fix the problems with my candles. I called the candle company and asked a few questions. I decided to stick with 3 to 5 candle types, become good at those. I'm feeling happy, confident and content with how I was able to stop myself spiralling out of control and going down a self destructive path, again. I'm still working with the book, doing the exercises in the book as I go. If I can make these changes, you can too. Invest in yourself and change your life.
