"We wanted to shoot on film because of how the process and medium are reflected in Hiut’s approach to how they make their jeans. Everything is hand-manufactured using quality denim from around the world which requires extra time and consideration during production. You can literally feel the difference in texture with their jeans and the rare imperfections of a hand-woven group of threads. It all adds to the character and quality of the item. Film is so much like this. A thoughtful, considered medium that embraces imperfections in the most beautiful way. For us, this was a no brainer to shoot this on 16mm, and the results as always blew us away."
