"We wanted to shoot on film for multiple reasons. The African sun can be pretty harsh and unforgiving, especially shooting daytime exteriors – on film, however, it looks great. 2perf also gave us just the right amount of grit for this project. Surprisingly it also became a tool when shooting with hyped-up teenagers – when they heard the film rolling, they realized that it really meant something and focused. Looking back, it would have been a very different film on any other format. " ⠀ Writer/Director @philippetempelman on shooting 2 perf 250 D & 500T 35mm with DP @katearizmendi for SONS OF MY COUNTRY. The film is the story of two young Moroccan boys who decide to leave Marrakech in search of a better life.
