discussing #WFH verse returning to full office schedules—-for women, working from home offers some advantages but also many challenges (feeling these while my kids are not in school or camp!)—-but loving my view!
⛑ Being a volunteer for the #RedCross#RedCrescent Movement is a large part of who I am, but it isn’t the full story. Behind my #uniform there is another person, with a regular day job which allows me to serve my #community as a RCRC #volunteer.
On a daily basis I suit up (pre-home office) to work at a large professional consultancy firm to advise United Nations Agencies 🇺🇳 and other non-profits to champion some of their toughest challenges around the world. It gives me skills, knowledge and flexibility which I bring to the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
Around the world there are millions of #volunteers in and outside the RCRC supporting their communities in various ways. They’re not only volunteers - they’re teachers, artists, mothers, bankers, students ... all bringing different capacities into the organisation. No matter what’s your skill or contribution, there is always (!) an impact you can make in your community - not the least in today’s global pandemic. We thank our volunteers for their service, and recognise without them no humanitarian action would exist. #ThanksVolunteers 👏
