Hi everyone, I've not posted about my Lister D engine project recently... this is mainly due to the fact that the wheels I bought for it were too big and I had to fine replacements and also, the weather has been horrible up here and hasn't allowed me to do any painting at all! π€·ββοΈ ah well!
Anyway,
I have now found some replacement wheels for my engine trolley and at 8 inches in diameter they are a much better fit.
I first removed all of the surface rust that I could with a angle grinder fitted with a wire wheel then I applied some 'VacTan' rust converter which seals in the remaining rust particles to stop them oxygenating which turns a nice black colour.
After this has dried it's a case of applying red oxide primer and then a final couple of coats of gloss black.
Now just the other 3 to do. π
In other news, I seem to have landed myself a unplanned project... I recently visited a site here in south Wales that has a Lister generator as a back up to their main generator, this hasn't ran in many years and as the engine itself is almost identical to my big Lister, they've asked if I can take it on and get it running again.... rather stupidly, I said yes! So that's another project that I've got to add to my long list! π π€¦ββοΈ
