#VGirls | Meet @lexijayde: the angsty ingenue scoring the stories of teendom. Whether you’re going through your first heartbreak or wishing an ex would drunk text you, Jayde’s relatable lyrics and dreamy, cotton candy-like harmonies are ready to meet you where you are currently. Her honest lyricism had a chance to shine when her angsty pop hit, “drunk text me,” went viral on TikTok earlier this year, and with the release of her 2022 sophomore EP, “closer to closure”, the young talent isn’t about to rest on her laurels. #VGirls | Zeroing in on the epicenter of L.A.’s rumbling youth-quake, V spotlight the voices sending sound-waves through Gen Z!
Meet @embeihold: the indie newcomer shaking up the internet. In a time when having one hit song on a platform is a feat, Beihold has had three of her irresistibly-catchy pop tracks go viral on TikTok—delivering lyrics both melancholic and funny, intimate and universal—all in an enchanting, crystal-clear falsetto. If she’s not a contender for the voice of a generation just yet, the release of her debut EP “Egg In The Backseat” (out now) is sure to cement her status as one to watch. #Heroes | As seen in V137, our new fall preview issue, V turn our attention towards costume designer and experimental artist @robinsnewland.
Spending the late '80s honing her craft while working under design titan Patricia Field, rubbing elbows with the likes of Keith Haring & Andy Warhol, and sitting for portraits by iconic photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, Newland's artistry has been fueled by the eccentric characters that orbit around her world. And while over the past two decades she's kept a low profile remaining the industry's best kept secret, the art aficionado is ready to step into the spotlight with a new perspective. With her debut solo exhibition "A Dolls Perspective”—which opens today at @villageworksnyc—Newland reconnects with mentor Patricia Field inside V137 to reflect on her design roots and the next chapter of her artistry.

#ICYMI | This monday, The New York Public Library lit up with color as the many familiar faces of @MarcJacobs’ Fall 2022 show, such as @anokyai, @gigihadid, @bellahadid, and more glided down the runway in oversized, dystopian gowns in a message of “Choice” as Jacobs wrote in the show notes. In a time of oppression and uncertainty, the right to choose is all we need—and Jacobs’ choice is unapologetic creativity. Head to the link in bio to discover more about the collection!
