We are coming to the final weeks of SS22 ‘PORTAL’ being in season, and as I reflect on the show that it was (using these beautiful photos by David Richardson for @documentjournal ) I am reminded of how different my intensions were for LOVERBOY back then….it was the first physical event we had done in nearly two years and I was eager to provoke and seduce. I was tapping into an grandiloquent mindset I had when I first started the label. It was hectic, it was exciting, it was…..a lot…but I’m glad we did it anyway. Since then my team has grown/ changed, I have grown as a business owner/ creative director (I hope) and we have a better idea of where we want to place ourselves to get the best out of a release of work. Having a small business is challenging, especially in fashion, during a pandemic, a climate crises, Brexit and under a corrupt government that doesn’t support creativity or the arts. However I am grateful that I still have a job and I am able to make work with a fantastic team. For our next collection (PRESS23-MSS23) we have decided to present it on a new schedule, in a new city…Milan. It’s a new installment for LOVERBOY, a new conversation, I’m excited! The Scots and the Italians have a special relationship, I’m looking forward to seeing what it brings 🇮🇹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ———————- We will be releasing our new work on the 21st of June at 1030am (BST) ———————- #charlesjeffreyloverboy #milanfashionweek
