While the Sex Pistols were tearing it up on the Thames on Silver Jubilee night in 1977, George Cox were proudly showing their “Jubilee Rock” creepers on the “fit for the Queen” feature on BBC TV’s Nationwide. Some will say it was opportunistic to stick a hand drawn fleur-de-lys on this shoe from our archive to mark the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Diana in 1981, but it did get us on the telly again.
