'I want to take this moment to thank Magdalene and Shawanda for their commitment to this project. I am incredibly grateful to them for sharing their art and themselves, graciously agreeing to be photographed by Juergen Teller, who I would like to thank as well.
Thank you to Benjamin Bruno and to my amazing team, without whom none of this would be possible. As well as Anthony Slayter-Ralph and Tommaso Corvi-Mora who have been incredible in this project.
And finally, thank you, for taking the time to look at this project exploring what the future of fashion and creativity may be. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I hope to see you very soon. Love, Jonathan'

'The idea of volume. The body and curves. The Women’s Autumn Winter 2021 collection was born out of the idea of experimental volumes; of slowing down the process, of looking and homing in on the idea of rounded and fluid shapes.
As we approached the moment to reveal this collection and experiment in its creative presentation I knew that I wanted to work with Juergen Teller again. By looking through his lens, I find honest moments in art and clothing and creativity that I hope invoke the same emotional reaction for you as they do for me.
The way Juergen captured Shawanda’s performance art piece at his London studio. His images of Magdalene at her studio. The photos of the beautiful Nyaueth in the collection. The way it all comes together on the oversized prints. Working with Juergen felt like opening doors to new creative paths and new ways to show not just fashion, but artistic output broadly. With this project I got to follow a personal passion of mine. It feels new and it inspires me for the future.' (...)

'Whilst working on the Disobedient Bodies exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield in 2017, I had the amazing good fortune to meet an artist I had admired for years, Dame Magdalene Odundo. She is an incredible ceramicist, arguably one of the greatest, and over the years she has become a close friend whom I admire and look up to.
As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded last year Magdalene and I found the time for long dialogues and discussions. Being able to sit at a kitchen table and engage in a creative conversation with someone whom I respect so much was invigorating; it sparked ideas. In June of last year, when London was briefly reopened, I saw a show at the Corvi-Mora Gallery by a young American artist living in the UK, Shawanda Corbett. In the centre of the gallery was a platform filled with totemic sculptures embellished with geometric forms; vessels representing.
I mentioned Shawanda’s work to Magdalene and she knew of her as well. I feel so lucky to have encountered these two artists, born continents and generations apart, both exploring the idea of the body and its physicality and the notion of pots as physical vessels yet also vessels of information. It was incredible to feel the profound power and influence objects can have on you. I rediscovered the excitement I found curating at The Hepworth Wakefield.
Through discussions with Magdalene and looking at Shawanda’s paintings like Chair with plastic cover, I became fixated on this idea of the two-dimensional becoming three; of the paintings being translated into blankets which then become tapestries that take on the form of the body. Shawanda is also a performance artist; the physicality of her performative work informed me as well.' (...)

A Show in a Book for @LOEWE Fall Winter 2021 consists of an original 200-page hardbound volume devoted to the graphic works of artist and writer Joe Brainard (1942-1994). This publication gathers rarely seen artworks, comics, printed matter and ephemera Brainard created during the 1960s and 70s, with a preface by his close friend, the poet Ron Padgett, and an essay by art critic Éric Troncy.
The book is housed in a giant fold-out cloth dust jacket reproducing Brainard’s 'Untitled (Bow)', a colorful collage from 1967. In the folds of the dust jacket, two sewn booklets printed on tracing paper present the Fall Winter 2021 men’s runway collection and women’s precollection.
The publication will be distributed by Printed Matter as a stand-alone volume when the collections are commercially available in June 2021, with all proceeds going to Printed Matter and Visual AIDS.
A monogrammed bookstrap holds the book together with A Show on a Shirt—a cardboard box containing an oversize T-shirt featuring the Eye/LOEWE/ Nature Fall Winter 2021 collection, worn by the actors @StephaneBak and @OmarAyuso.
