I never worked with the Beatles but knew Paul a bit socially and these portraits were taken during a recording session when Mick Jagger produced a few tracks with Marianne Faithfull and Paul dropped by to help when she tried singing ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’.
I began to colourise my black and white images back in the 90s, beginning with my images of Jimi Hendrix but then moving through the archive as ideas flowered and technology evolved. I colourised this portrait of Paul, taken in 1967, back in 2010 as part of a triptych.
