Rosemary Stone was a member of Sly and The Family Stone - alongside her brothers Sly and Freddie - for ten years from 1966 and as Sister Rose appeared on their US number singles ‘Everyday People’, ‘Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elg Agin)’ and ‘Family Affair’. In 1976 she released her solo album Rose - which included her R&B hit ‘Whole New Thing’ - under the name Rose Banks. She went on to record with Michael Jackson and Ringo Starr before performing as a backing singer on Robbie Williams’ hit album Escapology in 2002.
This session was shot at the famous Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles and was for the cover of her debut solo album Rose on Motown Records, although I’m not sure how it ended up being used!
