The trio of Glenn Gregory, Ian Craig Marsh and Martin Ware formed Heaven 17 - named after a band in A Clockwork Orange - in 1980 and over the following seven years notched up 11 UK hit singles - including the Top 10 hits ‘Temptation’ and ‘Come Live With Me’ - plus three Top 20 albums. The electronic pop trio co-existed with their British Electric Foundation, which was involved in a series of projects involving guest artists such as Sandie Shaw and Tina Turner. By the mid-1980s Marsh and Ware focussed on production work although Heaven 17 returned with a final collection of new material in 1987.
High camp, low fashion, British New Wave Synthpop - great look with a touch of film noir! I have no idea what the TV is all about but remember that is was important at the time…
