happy disability pride month! remember that legs are a✨privilege✨ that can be taken away!!
health is a ✨privilege ✨and you can lose it.
here to remind y’all that you could get in a car wreck TOMORROW and end up like me. (having to rely on mobility aids to get around) the world is not built for people like me, there’s little to no accessibility. or help for us. disabled people still can’t get married without losing their benefits! but let’s not talk about that right now.
pls stop asking disabled people “what happened to you” while pointing at our mobility devices.
stop telling ambulatory wheelchair users that we’re faking
and please stop telling us that we’re inspirational just for *existing*
I am not inspirational. i literally do not do anything extraordinary i am just a normal person going through life, and i just so happen to rely on devices like a cane, walker or wheelchair. that’s literally it.
and i can’t even believe this a thing but, stop telling us that we’d be better off dead! a disabled life can still be good. thanks
anyways, i just wanted to say hello and a huge thank u to the disability community for providing support in my darkest of times. miss u. love u.
