📚 Unmasked by Paul Holes
.
This was a great read! If you're familiar with Paul Holes, then you know he was a key player in solving the Golden State Killer case. He does talk about the case throughout the book, after all it consumed a large portion of his 24 year career. However the book is so much more than that. There is great insight into his work as a criminalist and he actually relays multiple cases which stood out to him throughout his career. He's also very candid about how his career effected his family life. I really enjoyed this one. If you're looking for something in true crime, or want a good memoir, read this!

🖤 ART REVEAL 🖤
Check out this beautiful art of The Altruist and The Assassin, from The book of all things series, releasing August 9.
Full Blurb
Rhiain enjoys a charmed life as the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the realm. Spoiled and vain, she has never met a need or want she couldn’t attain. The dark spots in her memory have been tucked away, with all other unpleasant things.
Then a terrible mistake brings her entire world crashing down around her. Her life shifts in an instant; her fate, uncertain. Her father’s punishment for her is forcing her to train for a life as one of his prized assassins.
But a chance encounter in a familiar tavern will change everything.
Everything she knows.
Everything she feels.
Everything she is.
As Rhiain gets closer to handsome, enigmatic Asterin— a man she doesn’t remember but claims to possess the truth about her dark spots—she begins to accept there is much more to these gaps in her understanding of the past.
Because these memories were taken from her for a reason. And there are those who will do anything to stop her from remembering.
The Altruist and the Assassin is a standalone fated love fantasy romance tale set in the Kingdom of the White Sea universe, with hints of Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty.
Can’t wait to read this book!

Combine an author I have always enjoyed and a story set in “book world” and I am sold!!
⠀
No Words by Meg Cabot was a great, light read that screamed summer to me. Set at a literary festival on a small island in the Florida Keys, with characters that were either authors, librarians or book lovers like us, it was easy to feel right at home with this story. In fact, I am ready to go there.
⠀
This is an enemies to lovers romcom with a lot of chemistry but not much steam. The main characters are authors in different genres who happen to have a bit of bad blood between them due to a past incident. Learning the scope about what really happened in the past, why, and what they are going to do about it now proved to be enjoyable and quite satisfying.
⠀
Looking for some easy breezy summer reads? Add this to your TBR, I think it fits that bill. Plus, it is a book about books , ahhhhh.

📚 Indie Favorites 📚
Happy #indiebookday!
Was davon kennt ihr schon? Was wollt ihr noch lesen? Und erzählt mal, was eure liebsten Indie-Bücher sind?

Happy #indiebookday! 📚 🙌
My Picks:
