We teamed up with @brentcouncil and commissioned @woodstreetwalls to create a public art project for Kilburn Town Centre! 🎨
The artwork is created in collaboration with local Kilburn artist and resident Linett Kamala from @lin_kam_art and it will be painted on Network Rail bridge spanning Kilburn High Road at Brondesbury Station.
The mural will promote Kilburn’s unique identity to residents and visitors and draw on the local history and culture of the area. You can contribute by joining in our workshops and sharing what you love about Kilburn in the comments 👇
You can also watch the full interview with Linett on our Youtube channel (Link in bio).

Congratulations to Camden students on their A-level results this week! 👏 👏 👏
This year, for the first time since the pandemic began, students were able to sit exams in person, rather than having grades assessed by their teachers.
📕 Parliament Hill School and LaSWAP students Jackson (left) and Amber (right) with Headteacher Sarah Creasey. Jackson got A*AAB and will be completing a one-year internship at an animation company before studying film and drama at Exeter University. Amber achieved A*AA and will be studying product design engineering at Loughborough University.
📚 While the Class of 2022 have all suffered severe disruption to their education, few have faced the challenges that Ajmal, 19, of @acland_burghley and LaSWAP Sixth Form, has overcome. Ajmal arrived in the UK from Afghanistan just over two years ago with limited English and after losing a friend in an explosion at his education centre in Kabul. He says: “Thanks to studying here, I now have a place at the University of Essex to read biomedical science with a full scholarship.”
📘 La Sainte Union and LaSWAP students celebrate their results, including Kezia (second from left), who achieved ABB and will be going to Queen Mary University of London to read international relations.
We couldn’t be prouder of everyone! ❤️

Inspired by the #Lionesses’ success this weekend? ⚽ 🏆
In Camden there are lots of opportunities for young girls to play football. Coaching some of the sessions is our very own Kirsty, who is also a former Lioness. She said: “It’s been a long journey. I never thought when I played that I would see over 87,000 spectators cheering on the Lionesses at the home of football winning a European Championship. It was the best feeling ever, women and girls’ football is here to stay.” We couldn’t agree more! 👏
Check out the Camden Rise website (Link in bio) to find out more about football sessions for girls during the month of August. Sessions include: girls' football, mixed football and Girls Get Moving multi-sport sessions. There are also plenty of football clubs across Camden for girls over 16 to get involved in.
We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Aya and Samir, Camden’s new Youth MPs! 👏
After a two-week election process, Aya Elgool and Samir Qurashi have been chosen to be our new Youth MPs and Rebecca Stamp and Hdayet Otaky were elected as their deputies.
The results were announced by the @mayorofcamden and the previous Youth MPs at our offices at 5 Pancras Square earlier this week.
Samir said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me, supported me and promoted my campaign to be Camden Youth MP. I look forward to working with Camden Council, and young people themselves, to implement the strategies outlined in my manifesto.”
Aya said: “Thank you to the people who supported me, including Camden Youth Council, my friends and family. I promise to do my best to work hard for the youth of Camden.”
The newly-elected Youth MPs and Deputy Youth MPs will attend the UK Youth Parliament national meeting to decide on future campaigns, meet senior Council officers, councillors, and other local decision-makers and visit schools and youth clubs across Camden.
Well done to everyone who took part! 👍

Have you spotted our new outdoor exhibition Town Spot Presents yet? 👀
We’ve gone physical, with the help of the funding from local residents, @matthew.jamesandco, and @wemakecamden 🙏🏻
From today you can do a self-guided tour around 17 top spots in Kentish Town. The purpose is to showcase stories of the hard-working people behind our high street businesses, and connect you more to where you live. The exhibition will run for 3-months until mid-October 🗓
The exhibition has come to life in collaboration with local Kentish Town residents, @kish, a documentary photographer, and @_oliviaburney, a freelance journalist 🌟
At each location there will be an eye-catching window display with a portrait of the people behind the business, along with a quote or two. You will then be able to use your phone to scan the QR code to read more information about the business online 🤳
Shiu-Kay, Owner at SKK Lighting, one of the businesses showcased says: “It’s the first time someone has promoted us. I think it’s a very good idea, it looks good. I’ve noticed more people coming into the shop already. It’ll be nice to see what the result is after a few more weeks.”
Check out the Google Map link in our bio for a self-guided route around the exhibition 🗺
Start with grabbing a coffee at @fieldsbeneath, and end with a Cardamom Bun at @breadbybike 🤤
What do you think of the exhibition? Tell us in the comments 📝

We've reached a high point at Agar Grove! 🏗️
Camden Councillors Danny Beales and Sagal Abdi-Wali joined @hillgroupuk to complete the latest phase of the building process, documented in this jaw-dropping aerial video 🦅
At Agar Grove and across Camden, we are building the first new council homes in a generation to help address the most significant challenges we are facing. This estate will provide nearly 500 homes for new and existing residents, replacing old council houses with new, larger homes. These will also be some of the most energy-efficient in the country and will help residents cut their carbon emissions at a time when bills are rising and action against climate change is needed 🌍
This development is part of our Community Investment Programme, through which we are working together in partnership with residents to deliver vital new council homes, and investing over £1billion in housing, our schools and community facilities across Camden.

A beautiful new mural to commemorate one of London’s first Black headteachers, Dr Beryl Gilroy, has been unveiled outside West Hampstead Primary School where she was a headteacher 🎨
Dr Gilroy arrived in England from British Guiana in 1952, part of the Windrush generation, she studied Child Development, became an acclaimed author, respected broadcaster and Camden’s first black Headteacher at Beckford Primary School in 1969.
The 15-metre artwork – created by @pang_artworks - comprises three images portraying the stages of Dr Gilroy's professional journey, using quotes from her seminal work "Black Teacher".
Attending the unveiling were pupils and teachers from @westhampsteadpsa, the Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard and Dr Gilroy’s daughter, Darla-Jane.
The artwork is the last installation of ‘LDN WMN’ – a series of free public artworks created by women and non-binary artists inspired by unsung women heroes from London commissioned in 2018 by @mayorofldn#WeMakeCamden#LoveCamden#Camden#WestHampstead#WestHampsteadPrimarySchool#DrBerylGilroy
