Danyk is 12. In 2022 his childhood was interrupted by war. His home was destroyed and his mother was seriously wounded when the Russian military invaded Ukraine in an attempt to occupy Kyiv.
๐ Now he cares about his mother and grandmother. His father, stepfather and uncles are defending Ukraine on the frontline.
Before school reopens in September, Danyk tries to help other people as much as he can. Together with his grandmother, he have joined the volunteering initiative clearing the debris of buildings outside Chernihiv. All they were destroyed by Russian bombardment.

UPD. The toll of the tragedy has raised to 22 people, five of them burnt alive in the car.
๐ Russia sent us its usual gifts โ missiles. Air sirens did not stop today across the whole country. One of missiles hit a railway station in Chaplyne, a village in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Four train cars were fired. As a result of the attack, it killed at least 15 people and injured 50 more.

๐ช These young defenders were born after Ukraine restored its independence in 1991 ๐บ๐ฆ But they turned out to be among the first to defend it during the war.
Young leaders of the Ukrainian army Dmytro Kotsiubailo, Oleksandr Shafranskyi, Alina Mykhailova, Andrii Verkhohliad, Viktoriia Kravchenko, and Dmytro Dudka have seen the price of independence. Their example shows that age means nothing if you fight for your family, home, and country.

While some still couldnโt find Ukraine on the map or claim it to be 'not a real country', it turns out it has a long history of fighting, winning, losing, and fighting again over independence. โ
What was there and who tried to steal its name (guess who!) โ see in today's shorty.
Enjoy!

๐ช My independence is stronger than ever before.
My seas and lands are now in the fight for freedom. My steppes grow bread to feed the world, and my cities protect my people. My words, and melodies are mobilised to serve the country.
๐บ๐ฆ You have seen me in blue-yellow flags that symbolise my freedom. You have seen me in the eyes of my strong people, who bravely defend their homes and future. I would love to see you, but let's meet when the world is safe again.
I have been in fight and I have been in peace. I have seen the lie and I have seen the truth. I have learned one thing โ everything is possible if you know what you are fighting for. And I know that for sure.
Don't say 'happy birthday'. I have been there for over a thousand years, but regained my independence 31 years ago. My wish for this day is simple โ my victory. I say it out loud, because nothing can change the destiny. And my destiny is united and peaceful Ukraine from the Crimean seashores to Chernihiv forests, from the Carpathian mountains to Donbas lands ๐
Celebrate with me โ stand for freedom with Ukraine! ๐๐
Kharkiv celebrates B-day today! ๐
You could have heard about Kharkiv from the international media depicting ruined buildings and suffering people. This is what Russiaโs full-scale war brought to the city. Its true soul remains as amazing as it has always been, though.
๐จ City of Creativity
ะ home to 160K students, whose dynamic youth pushes the city forward.
Ukraineโs cradle of art, science, and architecture.
Founded by Cossacks, Kharkiv continues to embrace new cultural formats and creative trends as if it is not 368 y.o. but in his early 20th again ๐ป
It is an evergreen place for everyone: tech start-uppers, game developers, designers, bike engineers, and tattoo artists.
Everybodyโs welcome here! But only if you donโt hide a bunch of rockets in your pocketโฆย
