Do you ever wish your base color application was a little bit cleaner? Try these two things:
⚡️pull the hair up and away from the face
⚡️use the corner of the brush when applying around the hairline
I didn’t mention or use it in this video, but applying a barrier cream can also help!!

I love this technique for a really soft and dimensional blend 😁 This would be a perfect option if you get nervous about harsh lines of demarcation.

Have you ever lacked confidence working behind the chair? Sometimes I still question if I know what I’m doing and feel anxious but it used to be a biggggg problem for me!
Here are some things that helped me gain more confidence behind the chair:
-investing in education
-practicing on doll heads
-discussing my mistakes with my peers & figuring out what I did wrong and how to fix it for next time
-making swatches to better understand the color I was using
-forcing myself to keep trying things even when I messed up
Have you ever felt this way? Tell me in the comments below!
I would love to mentor you through those tough times and help build your confidence!! I have a virtual education platform called BCU with over 100 tutorials and you can DM me anytime on the @the.BCU page and I promise to get back to you within 12-24 hours. Do you find that your tip outs end up looking super harsh and not blended? Here are 3 things that will help:
⚡️backcomb for a soft line of demarcation
⚡️over direct the section forward towards the face
⚡️paint the lightener on at a diagonal back angle

When I’m creating a dimensional blonde, I am really mindful about where I place my foils. I want to be efficient and make sure I don’t make my client TOO blonde and remove all the dimension.
Typically I stack the foils closer together as I start to get near the part. On the underneath sections, I leave my foils a bit more spaced out to preserve some of the dimension.
For $15/month you can have immediate access to over 100 tutorials where I talk all about my approach to efficient color on my education platform Blonde Chronicles University! I have plenty of clients that come to see me once or twice a year and here’s how I approach their regrowth! I call this my Faux Babylight technique and it’s my favorite for more coverage in an efficient way.
Interested in learning this technique?
⚡️I’ll be teaching it at 2 upcoming “Up Close” classes (these are small, 6 people or less classes intended to give you a really close look at exactly what I’m doing!).

Ever have a natural level 7 or lighter that you spend hours foiling and then blowdry and it looks like you did absolutely nothing?! Been there🙋🏼♀️ Here’s why that might be happening:
1️⃣ Weave size: tiny little microscopic weaves blend right into naturally light hair. Do some slices or take a chunkier weave!
2️⃣ Contrast: add some lowlights so the blonde has something to pop against!
3️⃣ Root melt: Go a smidge darker than the natural for some contrast at the roots. I used @wellahairusa Color Touch 7/1, 5/1 and 6/0. (This especially applies if you’re creating a lived in look).
I talk more about this on my education platform Blonde Chronicles University!! BCU currently has over 100 tutorials with new content added weekly. The tutorials vary in length from 20-90 minutes and cover tons of topics including color techniques, business building, hair cutting, social media, extensions, color theory and so much more! Would you be panicking if you pulled out foils and they looked like they do on the left 😳 I loveeee doing a bit of a heavier weave and doing less foils for a super efficient application.
I used 16 foils for this maintenance appointment…there is a very similar tutorial to this one my education platform called “17 Foil Smart Blonding Maintenance Appointment”

When a client says “I want to feel blonder but still keep dimension *and be low maintenance” here’s what I would do!
⚡️money piece
⚡️horizontal airtouch foils on each side of the part (I did 6 on each side but you could do more or less for a more solid look). I did a medium weave and I brought the lightener up high
⚡️5 horizontal airtouch foils in the back of the head
⚡️root melt with the same level as the natural
⚡️gloss the mids and ends with something that will enhance where you lifted to
If you’re looking for a more in depth look at this technique, I call it my “Faux Babylight Technique” and there’s an entire tutorial on it on my education platform Blonde Chronicles University. @the.bcu currently has over tutorials and you can be a member for $15/month (6 month minimum commitment). What do you think of these 3 myths?
1️⃣ The hair has to be lifted to white - I like to pull the foil out when the hair is pale yellow. I find that it’s so much easier to gloss hair that has a smidge of yellow left in it!
2️⃣ You need a cool gloss - I add some warmth to EVERY blonde gloss, even if they want it cool! Why? Because the warmth kind of “fills” the hair and keeps the it bright! Warmth prevents the hair from getting too muddy/dull
3️⃣ Bleach always damages hair - bleach is by no means a conditioning treatment, but there are definitely cases where blonding can leave the hair healthy. Low volume developers, quality products and great at home care all contribute to a healthy blonde!
I used @moroccanoilpro Blonde Voyage to brighten this hair and Color Calypso to gloss with (10G and 9N).
