Welcome to September ICONS
@badbunnypr’s songs aren’t just certified bangers—they’re entire musical resets.
The Puerto Rican superstar is the most streamed artist in the world, and he’s achieved his meteoric success by remaining true to his sound, his personal style, and the social causes that move him.
“I’m taking advantage of this moment in my life where I can do whatever I want and wear what I want, so I get to live life more authentically,” he says for the September #BAZAARIcons issue. “At the end of the day, my success in the United States I owe to the hardworking Latinos who have helped make the country what it is today.”

Welcome to September ICONS
@amandascgorman already knows that you want her to save the world.
Her recitation of “The Hill We Climb” at the 2021 inauguration made her America’s most famous poet at age 22. But “no sustainable and worthwhile future is ever built by one,” she tells @kaitlyn_greenidge_author. “It has to be built by many.”
The overall response to Gorman’s success, especially from people older than her, has been that she is a symbol of hope—a promise of something better than the division and violence in 2020. But, Gorman points out, “When my mom was growing up, she was told by the elders around her, ‘Go change the world.’ And in my generation, we’re told to go save the world. It’s completely different stakes.”

More from our August Performance issue -
When members of the @kyivcityballet arrived in Paris this past winter, they thought they were staying for only two weeks. But the next day, Russia launched airstrikes against their home country of Ukraine, and suddenly the ballet corps was stranded.
As the fighting unfolded, there was never any hesitation from the members of the company about continuing to perform.
“The stage is the place of war for us,” says @ivankozlov13, founder and general director of the Kyiv City Ballet. “With every performance, we show we are strong as a nation, that there is no way to beat us.”
