Has been 68 days since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the past, I was covering the refugee exodus that stormed the Polish border due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but yesterday, I moved to Lviv to cover the other side of the border. After the first day of photographing the relocation of civilians from the East and South of Ukraine, including from Mariupol that arrived on a train from Zaporizhzhia, to take shelter in a bunker, a dinner was taking place with two colleagues photojournalists. While enjoying, the electricity went off and soon we got to know about the rocket attack in Lviv. Here it is a report with some photos from yesterday night and today's aftermath coverage of the places where the Russian missiles landed. According to official press releases and local media reports, Russian cruise missiles were launched from the Caspian Sea, two out of five were shot down by air defence forces but electric substations in Lviv oblast, and one hit an electric substation in Transcarpathia were hit. As a result of the attack, two people were injured in the Lviv area.

Has been 47 days since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Being constantly tired is now part of daily life and somehow feels pretty normal. The constant research, shoot features and constant communication with Getty news editor @maralxdeghati are the new normal as we work on getting accurate coverage of what is known to be the biggest refugee exodus since WW2. More than 2.5 million refugees are now living in Poland after the Russian invasion of Ukraine since February 24, 2022.
This post is about hope. Among all the drastic images we see coming from Ukraine and refugees arriving in Ukraine's neighbouring countries, we also can find beauty and hope.
The Green Hotel owned by Justyna, 70 years-old, has suspended operations due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Located 25 km from Poland's second-biggest city, Krakow, the influx of 150,000 Ukrainians fleeing war, means an increase of the city's population by 20% in just a few weeks. Justyna, with the help of her daughter, Karolina, granddaughter Wiktoria, and four new local hires, are now housing 44 displaced Ukrainians of which 22 are children and three are pregnant women. Through her local network, Justyna secured medical appointments, taxpayer identification numbers and bank accounts for all the guests. Ukrainian women began preparing their national dishes such as dumplings and sweets and through the Green Hotel social media pages every day dozens of food dishes are sold for the local community and the income is distributed amongst the women and for hotel expenditures.

Children from different cities including Mariupol who fled the war in Ukraine take part in a bracelet making workshop conducted by Valentyna, Olena and Olga who also left Ukraine due to the Russian invasion at the Galicia Jewish Museum on April 01, 2022 in Krakow, Poland. More than four million people have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion of that country on February 24. Millions more have been internally displaced.
Has been 40 days since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I have been covering how the Ukrainian refugees' integration in my home city is going. One topic that usually is difficult to access, is children. I have been lucky enough to cooperate with museums and youth centres in order to photograph the Ukrainian young generation integration. Has been a contrast in scenes compared to the border area. Krakow has now more than 150 000 refugees and tries to quickly integrate and offer a taste of normal life to the newcomers.
