When asked to describe the ocean in one word, Expedition 62 astronaut @astro_jessica replied, "Life."
What does the ocean mean to you? #WorldOceansDay 🌊

🎉 Happy 90th Birthday, NASA astronaut David R. Scott — the first person to drive on the Moon!
Scott flew on Gemini 8 and Apollo 9, and was Spacecraft Commander on Apollo 15.
For more details and images from Scott’s missions, follow @ NASAhistory on Twitter.
📷 — This photograph, taken by astronaut James B. Irwin on July 31, 1971 during the Apollo 15 mission on the lunar surface, shows Astronaut David R. Scott in the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) for the return trip to the Lunar Module, Falcon, with rocks and soil collected near the Hadley-Apernine landing site. Apollo 15 was the first mission to use the LRV, a lightweight, battery powered electric car that provided the astronauts with improved mobility. Overall, the LRV enabled the Apollo 15 crew to log a record 18 hours, 37 minutes of exploration, traversed a total of 17.5 miles, and returned stunning live TV images to Earth. The LRV was designed and developed by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.
📷 — This image, taken on March 6, 1969, shows the Apollo 9 Command and Service Modules docked with the Lunar Module. Apollo 9 astronaut Dave Scott stands in the open hatch of the Command Module, nicknamed "Gumdrop," docked to the Lunar Module "Spider" in Earth orbit. His crewmate Rusty Schweickart, lunar module pilot, took this photograph from the porch of the lunar module. Inside the lunar module was Apollo 9 commander Jim McDivitt. The crew tested the orbital rendezvous and docking procedures that made the lunar landings possible.

Happy birthday, @astro_watkins! 🎉 On May 14, she celebrated her first birthday in space with her Expedition 67 crewmates.
How would you celebrate your birthday while aboard the @iss?
It is launch day for Orbital Flight Test-2 – the second uncrewed flight for @boeing’s #Starliner spacecraft. 🚀
Liftoff is slated for 6:54pm ET, with live coverage starting at 6pm ET: nasa.gov/live (link in story).
Following a successful completion of the OFT-2 mission, @nasa and @boeing will determine a launch window for NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test (CFT), Starliner’s first flight with astronauts aboard.

NASA’s @spacex#Crew4 mission launched and arrived at the International Space Station (@iss) on April 27.
How would you feel looking out of the Crew Dragon window?🪟
Crew-4’s arrival to the @iss includes a short overlap with NASA astronauts @astro_raja, @astromarshburn, and @astro_kayla, and @europeanspaceagency astronaut @esamatthiasmaurer, who flew to the station as part of the agency’s @spacex#Crew3 mission in November 2021.
Crew-4 is scheduled for a long duration stay of up to six months aboard the @iss conducting science and maintenance before returning to Earth in the fall of 2022.
