Falcon 9 has completed 31 missions so far this year, delivering ~351 metric tons to orbit – carrying astronauts & research to the @iss, deploying Starlink to provide global high-speed internet, as well as many other critical payloads for our commercial & gov customers
In addition to withstanding extreme cold, heat, hail, sleet, heavy rain, and gale force winds, Starlink is rugged enough to withstand rocket landings. Here’s live video captured on a SpaceX droneship at sea with and without Starlink → starlink.com/maritime
Today marks the 10th anniversary of completion of the COTS Demo Flight 2 (COTS 2) – Dragon’s first mission to and from the @iss. On May 25, 2012, Dragon become the first privately developed vehicle in history to successfully attach to the space station. Six days later, Dragon departed the orbiting laboratory and began its return to Earth.
Now, ten years later, SpaceX has a reusable Dragon fleet capable of supporting both crew and cargo missions.
