Before I started my modelling career in Milan with the agency Beatrice nearly 38 years ago I studied fashion design at Istituto Marangoni. I then worked in NYC as an assistant designer for an haute couture designer. After that I was hired to design a collection and my first piece was this dress that I modelled. I designed the entire collection, but the company went bust before we could produce the other pieces. It was at that point that I sat at a cafe disappointed and with a friend desperately trying to figure out which kind of jobs I could apply for in design when Ashley walked in ( sadly I can’t remember his surname),a well known makeup artist. He worked with the famous photographer Ian Miles. He walked up to our table with that common line “Have you ever thought about modelling?” and proceeded to set up a shoot with Ian. So it all kind of happened in New York. That beauty shoot with Ian got me to Milan. Bought a one way ticket and signed with the agency Beatrice and that was the beginning of my modelling career. We have got a heat wave going on here! I love the English words “waffling on” Definition is: Talking or writing a lot without giving any useful information or clear answers. Do you waffle on a lot or ever find yourself moaning non stop until a loved one awakens you to your moaning and tells you to STOP! We can produce good and happy thoughts just as we can create negative thoughts. Are positive thoughts any easier to create or replace than then bad ones? Probably not based on lots of factors and how conditioned we have become , but if you consciously become aware of your speech and thoughts you can replace the negative thoughts with the positive in your thinking and speaking and then it becomes automatic. With so much going on in the world which is tragic, unnecessary and overwhelming it’s easy to talk a lot and not so easy to listen. I can imagine people being fearful of even turning on the news or reading the paper. Listening is a real gift and skill, a trait that should be practiced more often than not. If you tend to be a better talker than listener try listening a bit more. Sometimes those you love only want to be listened to and not spoken to. They aren’t looking for advice or guidance just a good listener. I know I certainly need to listen more than I talk at times. A skill well worth developing. God bless you all and may you be there to listen to someone in their time of need.
