‘The Migration Series’ by Jacob Lawrence, 1940
The Poetics of Movement collection deliberately incorporates points of familiarity from West African culture. @iamfods looked at museum archives from places such as the V&A and drew inspiration from artist Jacob Lawrence’s ‘The Migration Series’, this influence is reflected in the colour palette.
LABRUM aims to establish that movement has always been a thing of importance. Inspired both in theory and in practice by the nature of change: movement in life, movement as life.
AW22 ‘Poetics of Movement’ coming soon to www.labrumlondon.com and selected retailers.

Our Spring/Summer 2022 'The Sound of Movement' collection came alive with bursts of kaleidoscopic colour, playing with hues of reds, purples, greens and blues. Inspired by the colour confidence of artists with African heritage such Frank Bowling with his sensual abstract pieces and the contemporary painter Barkley L. Hendricks.
The colour palette references the vibrancy of Freetown's landscape, LABRUM founder @iamfods birth town.
SS22 'The Sound of Movement' is available at www.labrumlondon.com and selected retailers.
