The Prince of Parc des Princes. There may be no greater expression of modern global sports celebrity than @wsjmag's Fall Men's Style cover star, 23-year-old soccer sensation @k.mbappe.
One of the most lionized players of the world’s most popular game, Mbappé is the heir to legendary talents like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, yet he’s come of age in an era of intense social-media scrutiny. Having attracted interest from sponsors from the age of 10, he understands the unique demands for athletes of his generation: to be a transformational player on the field while hitting all the right notes as an ambassador of a brand. “He’s not just expressing his talent,” says former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger. “He also creates the unexpected.” Read the story on wsjmagazine.com. For @wsjmag's Fall Women’s Fashion issue, @ethanjamesgreen returned to his native Michigan to photograph on the windblown bluffs of Lake Michigan. Fashion shoots typically entail professional models and an army of assistants. Instead, Green got personal, photographing his mother and aunt in a series of portraits that emphasize the striking authority of the season’s looks. Streamlined knitwear, dresses and structured jackets, as styled by Tonne Goodman, project a sense of gravity, softened by familial warmth. “It was such a special experience,” Green says, “because everyone that matters to me was on that shoot.” See more on wsjmagazine.com. Stella McCartney has a new natural skin-care collection called Stella by Stella McCartney. "I don’t have the time or the desire to be that person who has 700,000 products in my bathroom,” she says of the three-product line. “I want to have the purest, the simplest, the most core things.” Read more about it on wsjmagazine.com or pick it up in print this weekend. Behold, the divine Donhead House, home @natalie_massenet and @eriktorstensson. The couple first hit it off in 2010 when Torstensson pitched Net-a-Porter founder Massenet on creating Mr Porter—an extension of her online fashion site aimed at men. The two proved so simpatico that within a year and a half they had become partners in life as well as in business. One of their latest projects involved renovating a former rectory outside London into a bucolic family getaway. Inspired by the South of France villa where the Rolling Stones recorded Exile on Main St., the country home is a testament to the collaborative spirit behind their domestic artistry. @zoeisabellakravitz is @wsjmag's Fall Women's Fashion cover star! She has had the kind of year Hollywood stars dream about, earning critical and popular acclaim for her roles in "The Batman" and Steven Soderbergh’s cerebral thriller "Kimi." Her next move? Directing her first feature film. Her no-holds-barred approach to the forthcoming "Pussy Island" is informed by her belief that artists must be fiercely independent and radically honest. Starring her beau, @channingtatum, the movie explores how money, power and secrecy create conditions ripe for the exploitation of women. “The title is the seed of the story,” she says. “It represents this time where it would be acceptable for a group of men to call a place that, and the illusion that we’re out of that time now.” Read more on wsjmagazine.com.
