For @wsjmag's Fall Women’s Fashion issue, @ethanjamesgreen returned to his native Michigan to photograph on the windblown bluffs of Lake Michigan. Fashion shoots typically entail professional models and an army of assistants. Instead, Green got personal, photographing his mother and aunt in a series of portraits that emphasize the striking authority of the season’s looks. Streamlined knitwear, dresses and structured jackets, as styled by Tonne Goodman, project a sense of gravity, softened by familial warmth. “It was such a special experience,” Green says, “because everyone that matters to me was on that shoot.” See more on wsjmagazine.com.
