#PHOTOGRAPHY: David LaChapelle x The Guardian (press article)
Check out the press article on David LaChapelle in The Guardian covering his upcoming exhibition at Fotografiska opening on September 9th in NYC.
The exhibition ‘make Believe’ is the first building-wide takeover for Fotografiska New York. More than 150 works represent David's oeuvre from 1984 to the present. Here, the photographic medium extends into stained glass imagery, film, and collage.
Be transported into a metaphysical world of celebrity, environmental collapse, religious mysticism, and historical allegory in art. The final floor presents lush landscapes and paradisiacal imagery, signaling a sublime world of hope and redemption.
The longevity of LaChapelle's iconic images establishes him as one of the most significant photographers of the modern era.

#PHOTOGRAPHY: LOUIS VUITTON FRAGRANCE X JEFF BURTON
For the latest fragrance collection, Louis Vuitton commissioned an original painting by artist Alex Israel for its new City of Stars fragrance, a dreamy ode to Los Angeles at night. Photographer Jeff Burton captured the collection of fragrance bottles and travel cases with an atmospheric air of mystery and seduction. As darkness falls, the city’s lights surge in a sensual olfactory tableau.

#PHOTOGRAPHY: Coco Capitán x NAÏVY Book Publication
The NAÏVY publication accompanies Coco Capitán's first solo exhibition in Japan at Shibuya Parco. The book features 50 photographs from the recently completed “NAÏVY” series, which deals with themes of adventure, belonging, and loss of innocence. In order to complete this series, Capitán returned to the darkroom and spent hours reacquainting herself with analog printing techniques; the 10-year process of making "Naïvy" is a footprint of her own growth and progress as an artist.

#CULTURE: MTV VMA’s 2022: Nominated for Best Choreography - Yoann Bourgeois
Congratulations to Yoann Bourgeois for the nomination of best choreography at the 2022 MTV VMA’s for Harry Styles video ‘As It Was.'
In August 2021, English musician Elderbrook released the music video for “Inner Light,” his collaborative single with the electronic duo Bob Moses. The visual stars Elise Legros and Jean-Yves Phuong as they dance on a rotating platform, situated inside the Panthéon in Paris. The scene is excerpted from French dancer and choreographer Yoann Bourgeois’ 2018 film The Great Ghosts.
“Inner Light” may now look familiar to Harry Styles fans, as the pop star dances on a rotating platform with Mathilde Lin in his new “As It Was” music video. As it turns out, Styles’ new video is choreographed by Yoann Bourgeois and directed by Tanu Muino.
The artist remarked, “The relationship with physical forces has an eloquent capacity that can be very big; it has the kind of expression that is universal. This is something I look for through my work, because the physical phenomenon is something that happens across cultures.”

#CULTURE: Iris Van Herpen x Couture Fashion Week
This Couture Fashion Week, @irisvanherpen is looking toward the future. For the 15th-anniversary collection, Meta Morphism, the brand held its first physical fashion show in Paris in several seasons. The Dutch designer focused on elements of hyper-realism and digital technology, examining the ancient visions of Ovid's mythology through modern themes of transhumanism.
Down to the textiles, van Herpen's insightful outlook toward sustainable materials played a crucial role in this collection. Since the beginning, the designer's strong ties to sci-fi have played a vital role in her work, stating, “The materials are very future-orientated but with a natural twist.” Understanding the impact that Couture fashion week has on the environment, the use of digital technology was further pushed, stating, “With couture, we only create what clients want, but the Metaverse could help ready-to-wear brands show their collections digitally and monitor what customers want. This could reduce production massively.”
