Yo! To get to this point in my life and career has definitely been a JOURNEY!! And I STILL have a long ways to go. But, this is what I know for sure… 7 year old me is in complete awe of me. 10 year old me is extremely proud of me. 18 year old me is very proud as well. 25 year old me is proud of me, too. And so are the other versions of me. They know what it took to get HERE! And, in spite of the odds, I was able to still become the person I am today. And I’m very proud of that. On Saturday, May 14, my baby sister, Ariel Ralleigh, peacefully transitioned from this world. “Heartbroken” doesn’t even do the feeling justice. Yet, I am so grateful to have had 4 more incredible years with such a beautiful soul. Ariel was in a coma back in 2018 and was told by the doctors that AT BEST she would be in a vegetative state, if she ever woke up. 4 months later she did. And has been proving the doctors wrong ever since. Ariel was a walking, talking miracle and inspired so many people along her journey. Her final days were with me. And what a time it was. We had the opportunity to spend time in a way that we haven’t be able to do before. She was so happy. And I was SO PROUD of her. I am going to miss the hell outta that girl. To Ariel, the prettiest baby I’d ever laid eyes on. My “Big Head”! My Baby sister: Thank you for your life. Thank you for loving on me. And thank you for being YOU all the way to the end. Grateful. There are so many things I’m grateful for in this season. Truly seeing myself is one of them. Others truly seeing me is another. Stepping into my power and owning it is one. Yo!! Life is a journey and everything has a season. One of the most important lessons to learn is that change is inevitable. Sometimes you lose a few things in that process. Yo!! For the past few years, at this time, I’ve been doing major purges to the things that exist in my space. I’ve collected a lot of things over the years: novelty items, graphic tees (way too many), clothes in general, papers, and a bunch of other things I don’t even use or wear. And each year, serendipitously, something happens where I have to do “inventory” on the things I have and do a necessary letting go of things that are no longer serving me. This year, it was getting new windows in my apartment and having to move everything around for the workers to install them. This time around, I decided to let a lot go. And, let me tell you…I feel so light! The energy in my space flows even better. It’s calmer. More relaxed. This is part of my bedroom. It has never felt like this. I’m so excited.
