Say it with us: No. More. Oil. Spills. #BigOil seems to do damage wherever it goes, whether that be leaching chemicals into our air, contaminating our drinking water, or dumping 200 Olympic-sized pools worth of oil into the ocean like the Deepwater Horizon spill. Depending on these fossil fuels means that we'll keep letting oil companies profit by destroying our land, water, air, and atmosphere. Enough is enough. It's time for a clean energy future!

Maybe it’s fun on TV, but it’s not so fun at the beach. Some shark species like Tiger sharks are showing up in new places, and signs point to climate change. Global warming has led to warmer oceans and rising sea levels, and higher CO2 levels are making oceans more acidic. The climate may change, but the shark’s preferences don’t. As northern oceans begin to reach that preferred 72 degree plus range, Tiger sharks (and their prey) are discovering new habitats, including beaches that were previously too cold for them. That species has shifted more than 200 miles closer to the poles! Forget a bigger boat, we’re going to need a cooler climate!

Our communities and families have been living with worsening drought, hurricanes, extreme heat, and so much more as #BigOil continues to put profit over people. Now Congress can finally #ActOnClimate by passing the historic #InflationReductionAct! Because the climate crisis is here. It’s an emergency for our communities. It’s an emergency for our health. It’s an emergency for our livelihoods. Let's #GetClimateDone. Swipe through to learn more about the #InflationReductionAct.
32 years ago, on July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed. That’s why we celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth every July! Having a disability can critically change an individual's experience with climate change impacts like extreme weather, making it vital to include those with disabilities in the climate conversation. The representation and involvement of the disabled community is necessary in order to solve climate change.
Trees play a pivotal role in our fight against the #ClimateCrisis. We mostly think of them as vital carbon sinks, absorbing greenhouse gases and slowing climate change, but they do so much more. Nearly 250 million people, many of whom are among the poorest in the world, rely heavily on forests for food, protection, and work. Add in the 80% of animals that live in forests, and we have ecosystems that support lives all over the globe. Protecting our trees means protecting our futures.

Big Oil sickens and devastates communities all across the globe – and no amount of greenwashing, denial, or misinformation will change that. We need bold action from policymakers if we want a brighter and cleaner future for all. #ActOnClimate
Today is a day to be angry. Congress’s continued failure to pass concrete legislation to combat the #ClimateCrisis is a loss for the American people, for the frontline communities bearing the disproportionate impacts, and for life on the planet. Our Climate Reality Leaders and activists across the US have spent months working for bold climate legislation to protect our communities, families, and planet. Yesterday, that plan was derailed by a single Senator.
In the absence of meaningful action from Congress, it’s time for the Biden Administration to take a stand to #GetClimateDone. @potus has to step up and use his full presidential power to #ActOnClimate while we still have time. Our work over the past year was not in vain. We know that we need sweeping climate action. And we know that @potus can deliver. We’re ready to keep up the fight, and we’re here to support you as you do the same. We can still do this before it’s too late. It’s @potus’ turn to be our climate hero.
The 2021 State of Global Climate report shows us not only our effect on the climate, but also sends a clear message: We are hurting the planet, and it’s not too late to save it - if we #ActNOW. Read the full report here: bit.ly/WMO21
