@PUMA X @DuaLipa for @THEFACEMagazine
Dua’s new big bag is on an even bigger night out.
Stumble from cloakroom, to club, to cab with our brand new bestie: the PUMA x Dua Lipa Flutur 2 Grip Bag.
It’s part of the second drop of PUMA and Dua’s ongoing Flutur project, seeing the pop queen work on a rave-ready ensemble of tracksuits, active tees and nineties-inspired trainers. The Grip Bag – available in black and red or pink and orange – completes the set. While you won’t be able to get your mitts on the biggest version of the bag, which is probably big enough to fit the entire thirty-piece collection inside it, you can grab the (more practical) next size down. Details include Dua’s bespoke butterfly icon stitched onto the side, handy internal compartments to stash valuables and an adjustable strap.
Naturally, we fancied taking the massive version for a spin on a big night out; so PUMA sent us an even bigger version of the bag to play with, so roomy that Mary Poppins nearly popped in to have a gander. Rounding up a gang of girlies up for a good time, we took them and this season’s it-bag on a night out to Metropolis (where else?) for a dance, a drink, and ten more. Yes, it took up the whole of the cloakroom. And no, it’s not one of THE FACE team inside it; this look has legs, OK.
Here’s what went down. From hitting the booths to shimmying around the dance floor, sipping fluoro-hued cocktails and heading to the bathroom to freshen up, we went until the early hours, with the bag ending up like all of us do: slumped in a cab refusing to zip it.

The @Ahluwalia Special for @LuncheonMagazine’s 13th Issue
Priya Ahluwalia founded her brand Ahluwalia in 2018. She has worked with stylist Nell Kalonji for the last two years and they come together for Luncheon to discuss the shoot by Nadine Ijewere featured on these pages, the community behind Ahluwalia and its future, and the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection, which takes its inspirations from Nollywood and Bollywood.
“So, Nell, we started working together maybe two years ago now. My brand Ahluwalia was very young still, nearly two years old. I was a big fan of Nell’s work and I was looking for anew stylist. And basically, I just reached out. And it was quite funny, because Nell came to my studio to meet me and look at my work and I thought it was so cool. And she started talking about next steps. And Iwas like, ‘Oh, so you actually do want to work withme?’ And she said, ‘Yes, that’s why I’m here.” - @Priya.Ahluwalia1
“I knew about Priya’s work, although I think she’d only done three presentations. So last season was actually her first ever runway show. The brand is four years old now. She’s so far advanced in her stockists and how the business is built. You don’t often see this in young designers, that they have this sense of being a business woman as well as being acreative, a brand. So there’s a real structure. And then when it came to last season, and we did the Autumn/Winter 2022 show, it felt so strange to think that that was her first season because she’s already done I don’t know how many films. I think that a couple of young designers have done this during the pandemic, but I think Priya is a prime example.” - @NellKalonji

Trailblazing Labour Party MP @ZahraSultanaMP in Conversation with @Ahluwalia
For @HUNGERMAGAZINE
Zarah Sultana is a one-off. She can talk about boy bands and football with the same passion as the cost-of-living crisis and the climate emergency. And it’s this down-to-earth, “normal” personality that has made theyoung Labour MP for Coventry South a social mediasensation and a much-needed voice of the people – especially young people. Here, she sits down with the designer Priya Ahluwalia, with whom she has builta mutual respect over the years, to discuss politics, protests and trusting politicians.
“I can’t think of another politician where I would learn so much about what is going on. You’re so open and always full of facts and you’re so good at helping people who are not working as well as those who are working. You’re good at communicating with people in your peer group and younger people too. But when it comes to parliamentary work and trying to make a change, there must be intense struggles.” - @Priya.Ahluwalia1
“I think it’s a combination of things. Because I’m young and the vast majority of people here are very old I have been patronised. People say, “Don’t worry, you’re young, you’ll figure things out,” as in I’ll change the way I approach this as I get older. Then there’s my race and gender – when I get heckled in the chamber when I’m speaking, loads of MPs have noticed and said to me, “The way that they treat you is very specific.” And I think that’s also because of what I’m saying. So because I’m young, I’m a woman of colour, and then because I’m basically calling them out for what they’re doing and not really being shy or subtle about it, they try to shut me down, but that only makesme want to talk louder and go for it more – they can’t silence me, because that will be their tactic working.” - @ZahraSultanaMP@zarahsultanamp wears full @ahluwalia

The @PUMA X @DuaLipa FLUTUR DROP 2 Launch Party
THE NIGHT BEFORE
In Partnership with @MandiLennard
See, dinner parties don’t usually win on either the dinner or the party side; unless you’re Dua Lipa and PUMA of course, in which case it’s instant legend. Last week, the two celebrated the new Flutur drop – thirty new pieces of rave-ready streetwear – with three acts at Hackney’s Bistrotheque, a bonkers morning-after-the-night-before-themed bonanza of performance and psychedelic set design at the East London venue that made Alice’s Wonderland look like Poundland.
Artful trashiness abounded: rubbish bag sculptures hung from the ceiling, tablecloths and napkins were stained with ash and vino and chairs were upturned and skewiff. There were windows scribbled with lipstick, ping pong ball bouquets and a grand piano trashed with fishing nets, tinsel and flags made with paper straws and neon wigs.
Once seated and just about sane, Dua’s tour dancers – who feature in the video for the Flutur campaign – took to the stage, before dinner emerged. Marinated tomatoes, shallots, caperberries and basil gave way to a bouillabaisse or braised white bean dish, paired with top-notch wine and the sound of butterflies flapping their wings.
Then, the entertainment; with the sound of speeding cars ringing in the guests’ ears, Miss Jason announced that the Rave Box opened. Guests clambered downstairs to a utopia of motorway-inspired lights and lasers, flinging fists into the air for bangers from MYGAL and Hasani.
Finishing off with an ice-cream sandwich and a sweet nectar of mezcal, apple juice, lemon juice and brown sugar, it was the kind of dinner party that makes you never want to host one ever again; what’s the point when we’ll never reach these dizzying heights in our own sad little lives? - @THEFACEMagazine

FLUTUR DROP 2
AN ODE TO OLD-SCHOOL RAVE
Available now at PUMA.COM
Flutur’s unabashed aesthetic invites bright colors and form-fitting looks, inspired by old-school rave culture. The collection is filled with vivid shades, holographic details, and retro silhouettes. Active influences are mixed throughout as well, shown through striped jerseys, throwback sportswear silhouettes, and tracksuit-inspired cuts. Hues of pink, purple, and orange define the collection’s color palette, which includes apparel, footwear, and accessories, while Dua Lipa herself introduces a new pink hairstyle to match the color scheme of the collection.
At the front and center of the collection, Dua Lipa’s butterfly lettermark is inspired by vintage rave flyers and represents transition and new beginnings, a theme that became central to the London-born musician’s life as she went through a creative metamorphosis of her own. Dua Lipa’s butterfly graphic shares placement with PUMA’s fast cat insignia in much of the collection.
“The butterfly represents transition, metamorphosis, and new beginnings. I felt like in the beginning, when I first started working on drop one, the butterfly already had a lot of meaning for me. Now, going into the second drop, that meaning has just solidified itself and become even more important in my life. It feels like everything progressed and manifested itself in that way.” - @DuaLipa

The @NatashaZinkoMagazin Spring/Summer 23 Collection
QUEEN OF THE BOXES VOL.3
“I’m Ukrainian, I was born in Odessa on the Black Sea. All my mind — and my heart — is with Ukrainians, my family and friends there. I could not make a collection without Influence of the war. Focusing on this collection helped me to regain mental stability and to feel hope.” — @NatashaZinko
Spring / Summer 2023 marks Natasha Zinko’s most personal collection to date, an exploration of the clothes we cherish for life, imbued with a defiant attitude that declares survival and demands optimism.
The collection is not overtly political, but rather — like the televisions that comprise prints on T-shirts and silk shirting — merely a reflection of the realities (or non-realities, depending on we’re you’re watching from) of a world in turmoil.
