This how I would challenge the most common objections from walking people about being in a relationship with someone in a wheelchair based on my own experience: I must do all the house work: No you don’t. However when you asked me to cancel my previous assistant with it so that you could do it yourself, is a compromise given to you. Stop complaining! I don’t get to see my family and friends. Yes you do. But it is unrealistic to expect a goodwill every single weekend or many weeknights from your partner. It’s not only your well being that becomes important. You expect to much when it comes to behavior and how to handle money. Well I’m not going to be your parent. When you get my security with a place to live together, you don’t get to have all the spare time. You pitch in and do your part and don’t treat me like your ATM.
