‼️ As of Monday (yesterday) City of Miami Mayor @FrancisSuarez and Commissioner @JoeCarollonow announced that the pilot program to house 50-100 chronically houseless individuals on Virginia Key has been placed on a hold for 6 months. This isn’t over. This ‘pause’ was done to control the public outcry against this proposed plan. This project has not been tabled. If you were not aware, in 6 months we will be losing a no vote. @KenRussellMiami will be stepping down as he is running for congress. (@KenRussellForFlorida) Keep an eye on our feed for further developments and updates. It’s not over. It’s just starting. Continue to sign and share the petition, it has over 15,000 signatures. Continue contacting your elected officials, let them know this is not a good plan for parks or for the homeless.
