We would like to give a shout out to our amazing summer interns!
We appreciate all of the hard work that they have put in this summer and we hope that their experience in D5 has been just as enjoyable and meaningful for them as it has been for us.
May they take with them the new skills they have developed and work toward achieving their goals and dreams. 💫
This weekend I had the great privilege of joining @intermiamicf Managing Owner Jorge Mas in presenting the graduating senior class from the Little Haiti Soccer FC with brand new Acer laptops. 💻
We send off these bright young stars with our best wishes on their upcoming school year!

Education is the foundation for a bright future and District 5 knows how important it is for our students to start the school year feeling confident and prepared for the year ahead.
We partnered with @magicmikelive, Florida Department of Children and Families and @tutuatwell to make sure that our students were equipped with the tools for success!

I wonder if encampments would have gotten this much attention if the commission had voted to put the encampment in District 5 🤔
NO ONE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF ENCAMPMENTS UNTIL THEY CAME TO YOUR BACKYARD!
I DO NOT SUPPORT HOMELESS ENCAMPMENT AT THE HISTORIC VIRGINIA KEY BEACH
I ALSO DO NOT SUPPORT ANOTHER HOMELESS ENCAMPMENT IN DISTRICT 5
I voted yesterday to prevent the continued confinement of homelessness in the poorest areas of our City!
