This hawksbill photo, taken by Upwell Researcher Stephanie J. Rousso has a nice layer of algae covering its beautiful carapace. It is one of 5 species of endangered sea turtles that inhabit the waters of Gulf of California, where Stephanie is teaming up with small-scale fisherman to research and mitigate sea turtle bycatch.
