You are not the center of the world, and that's awesome (:
My brother sent me a very interesting article that explained how taking things personally can be both, annoying for our well-being and also unfair to others ☝️
And it also explained that we can fix that, yay 😂 So, apparently, there are two biased forms of thinking that 'push' us to take things personally: Personalisation and Mind Reading 🎯
▫️Personalisation 🙆♀️ is believing that you are the cause of a negative event, despite having little evidence to support that belief.
▫️Mind Reading 🧠 is believing that someone is judging you when you haven't confirmed what they think.
When you have both, sometimes your first reaction is to focus on you and how you feel and what you think they feel about you, by assuming things without evidence or without communication. So... That's kinda dangerous and a bit conceited 😂
Personally (lol), if I'm going to assume something, i would rather assume that people have no bad intentions, and from there try to confirm what is happening. Direct and explicit words are super important for me, since I struggle reading people and social cues sometimes 💀
Anyways (: link on stories if you're curious
