Not a lot of people know this but I was a server for 8 years before I went full time into being an entrepreneur.
Through the service industry I learned the power that comes from meeting different people from all walks of life, as well as the strength that comes from having discipline, the grit it takes working long hours and how important it is to make time for the work you want to be doing.
I would work part time, save up my money, and put it towards acting and yoga teacher training. On my time “off” I spent it working towards my goals, my vision and my life’s purpose.
I would collaborate on many projects for free, just to get the experience and sometime’s the exposure.
This rewired my brain in many different ways and showed me what was possible.
The life lessons I learned when I had nothing, will always remind me of the determination that came from having nothing. All my anger, resentment, and bitterness was channeled through my art and my work. Coming from survival taught me to see abundance in every way other than just finance.
However, having access to resources, networks and funding makes it that much easier to make your dreams a reality. Which is why I am excited to team up with @futurpreneur. With access to all three of those, Futurpreneur’s Indigenous Entrepreneur Startup Program, assists you in launching a side hustle or full time business.
