“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
There is nothing wrong with children’s Bibles.
There is nothing wrong with reading moral stories.
But remember to read the actual Bible to your children, too.
We do our children a disservice by assuming that they can’t understand the Bible. Why do so many act like it is a waste of time to read Scripture to their children? It’s amazing what they pick up on and can memorize.
The Psalms or Proverbs are great to read aloud to your children. Children are never too young to hear the Word of God—and it’s great practice for church, too.
“You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
Deuteronomy 11:19 ESV
