🚁 Mi-2 AM-1 rescue helicopter purchased with your donations has been sent to the frontline to perform special missions. This is an updated version of the Mi-2 helicopter, with increased lifting power and speed. A Ukrainian manufacturer has installed a more powerful engine, replaced part of the cockpit and the flight control equipment entirely; modern Garmin monitors and a new flight monitoring system replaced the old ones. The helicopter is equipped with medical equipment to help with evacuation and provide life support to the patients: an ALV device, a monitor, a heart rate monitor, a stretcher, etc. On August 17, it was delivered to the military to begin performing special missions. Andriy Shevchenko @andriyshevchenko surprised the students of the Borodyanka children's football school with an unexpected visit💙💛 The children didn't expect to see the legendary football player during their training, but they had the opportunity to play and talk with the UNITED24 ambassador. The meeting was emotional and full of joy, which is so important for these children who were forced to leave their homes because of the russian invasion. Borodyanka is one of the most-impacted villages in the Kyiv oblast, during occupation. Back in the spring, russian invaders piled through the local stadium in tanks and armored personnel carriers, depriving Ukrainian children of their childhood. But, thanks to Ukrainian defenders, the children are now able to come back home and play on their home field once again. On average, SES specialists isolate and defuse between 2000 and 6000 explosive objects daily. Compared to the times prior to the Russian invasion, these numbers have grown nearly tenfold. “A sapper without a metal detector is a soldier without a gun,” says Director of the pyrotechnical work organization department of SES, Serhiy Reva. Even once specialized pyrotechnical machinery does its work on a certain territory, the quality of the finished job is checked with the help of metal detectors. In order to efficiently demine Ukrainian land, the pyrotechnical departments of SES require 400 Vallon-, Minelab- or Ebinger-type metal detectors. Liev Schreiber @lievschreiber has visited Ukraine for the third time, but it is his first visit as U24 ambassador. The popular American actor has shared his impressions about the trip: “I think I knew what to expect in terms of the destruction and pain we would witness on this trip, but the real takeaway for me is the people,” says Liev Schreiber. “I really didn’t expect to meet so many extraordinary people. They stopped by the destroyed kindergarten in Makariv, met with the residents of a modular town in Borodyanka for people who've lost their homes, and made a surprise visit to the local children's football team during the training. The busy day ended with the filming of a UNITED24 video, written by Schreiber himself, which we will show you soon. We’re assembling an Army of Drones! The goal is to purchase 200 reconnaissance drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to collect thousands of multi-use and commercial unmanned aerial vehicles to help Ukraine defend itself against russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war. You can contribute in 2 ways; by either donating towards new drones, or by ‘dronating’ your own devices. The funds raised will be used to acquire tactical UAVs for air reconnaissance that can fly up to 24 hours at a time, at a distance of up to 160 km and an altitude of up to 5 km. These tactical UAVs are hard to detect, and hard for the enemy to take down. All donations are transferred directly to the special account of the @ministry_of_defense_ua . Donated multi-use and drones can be sent to a warehouse in Poland or the United States, where they will be transported and delivered to Ukraine.
