SPACE NEWS! The first image of Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy was captured today!📡
The international team of astronomers who produced the first direct image of a black hole three years ago have now produced a portrait of a second, this time a much-anticipated glimpse of one at the heart of the Milky Way.
Sagittarius A* possesses 4 million times the mass of our sun and is located about 26,000 light-years from earth and is located at the center of our galaxy. The distance light travels in a year, 5.9 trillion miles or 9.5 trillion km.
