From New York to DC it was a really productive trip filled with new collaborators and friends! Thanks for all the support, it was a great experience to be able to share the work that we are doing in Seychelles 🇸🇨
I am happiest when at sea! This week/Month is dedicated to the Ocean. Our very survival depends on its health! I will be sharing my ocean tales at the @the_explorers_club and at @unworldoceansday events! Am I terrified? Yes! Have I been practicing like my life depended on it - Yes!
But this is an appreciation post for the AMAZING collaborators that have come out of years of communicating over email and zoom! @katycroffbell@jenni_chow@oceandiscleague and Brennan Phillips and to the new collaborators that will cross my path as we aim to search the depths of the Ocean ❤️
Thank you for making my stay in Rhode Island so memorable!
Also should I buy a sail boat now? Hmmm 🤔
It’s Feature Friday again! Today let’s celebrate @sey_saltylocs a marine biologist and educator! Give her a follow and some love ❤️
Reel made by @shania_talma
Feature Friday: Today we are
introducing you to @elladventure.sey a passionate
biologist. She shares her hopes with us through a
series of questions.
Ella received the Professor David Stoddart
Scholarship issued by @sif_seychelles to pursue a
BS @universityofseychelles!-
She has a huge passion for cetaceans (dolphins and
whales) and hopes to study them further in future.
This weeks Friday Feature is about Jennifer Appoo, a Seychellois marine scientist who is currently doing her PhD at the University of Reunion. Her research is investigating the extent to which mangrove-nesting
seabirds mediate nutrient cycling into marine ecosystems around islands. Jennifer has an incredible work history already under her belt, notably playing key conservation roles on the iconic islands of Aldabra in Seychelles and Round Island in. We cannot wait to see what Jennifer achieves next!
