What an incredible night! 3 years ago, I was in Gettysburg PA shooting the pilot for @werehere. Steve Warren and @johnnieinstagram told me we’d win an Emmy for these costumes. I never thought they were serious, but here we are!! I’m so proud to share this award with @caseyyalater @diegomontoyastudio @patryq65 and @marcosquared. I would like to thank them both so much for creating a show that hilights LGBTQIA+ people from all walks of life. Seeing our stories on television is so meaningful. @werehere featuring Real housewives of Temecula, @bobthedragqueen! I took some strong inspiration from Versace, and Cavalli for this blue silk charmeuse evening gown, which was a very big departure from Bob’s usual fashion cues. The dress is all built on a corset as a base, with the breastplate (which goes all the way down past a belly button) built into the dress. The breastplate was custom painted by @gothamfx. I’m WAY behind in posting, but I’m gonna catch up! This look was originally going to be the final entrance look for season 1 of @werehere, but it got bumped. It was really fun to see it again, basically a year later, for the premiere episode of season 2 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The theme was southern belles/debutants, so I kept the silhouette of a ball gown, in pastels, with the twist that it’s a jumpsuit.
