#LeicaTips – Creating Mystery & Intrigue ✔️ Create silhouettes. This is probably the easiest way to add a bit of mystery to your photos as no detail can be seen in the subject, leaving the viewer intrigued about what or who they’re looking at and thus creating a longer-lasting impression. ✔️ Hide your subject’s face. Photographing your subject from behind in combination with an interesting backdrop adds mystery. Getting them to wear a bulky jacket additionally forms a strong shape against the background, making for a captivating shot. ✔️ Use selective focusing. The Coastal Dwellers 20 years ago, Australian photographer Narelle Autio won the 2002 #LOBA for her lively picture series dedicated to beach life. Her complex compositions represent a homage to the beauty of the Australian coastal landscape and convinced the jury, with their content and form, that the series best captured the competition’s theme of humanity’s relationship with the environment. “I have always found inspiration around water, especially the ocean.
