The phrase of the moment… recession.
Before that cost of living crisis
Before that…. war
Before that .… unprecedented (no I mean COVID, gosh I hate the word unprecedented)
And on and on and on….
It’s easy to get dragged down by all this and feel like everything has to be negative and serious.
Like because there’s a load of absolute SH*T happening around us it’s not ok to have fun.
We’re so busy # Adulting we’ve all become boring, miserable and serious (ok speak for yourself Kimba!)
Where’s the fun?
Where’s the comedy relief (hello laughing when you’re not supposed to!)
Where’s the life we’re living for?
One of the biggest objections to my gamification work is that ‘fun’ isn’t professional.
Are you kidding me?
People are more productive when they are having fun!
People learn more effectively when they’re having fun.
People are more creative when they’re having fun.
People are more motivated when they’re having fun.
Couldn’t we all do with a bit more fun in our lives?
I’ve taken this directly from an article in the Harvard Business Review
“Eighty-one per cent of employees at companies ranked as “great” described their office environments as fun.”
Do you want people to describe your membership, course or launch as ‘great’? Of course, you do!
We can help with making it more fun… leading to better results for everyone.
We’re looking to work with people who have successful online courses that want to take them to the next level and help their customers to get even better results.
There are limited spaces available at our beta-testing rate.

Have you ever played that game bag in hole?
No, it’s not a euphemism! Naughty!
It’s a game with two boards with holes in them and some bean bags. You split into two teams (or two players head to head) and the aim is simply to throw the bean bags into the hole.
It’s harder than it sounds!
We had one of these on our wedding day, one said ‘team bride’ and the other ‘team groom’.
I hadn’t realised this when my now husband (not bored of saying this yet!) got people to join his team and told others to join my team. I didn’t understand why we couldn’t be on the same side.
It seemed a bit counterintuitive on our wedding day to be competing against each other but it’s just a bit of fun so we played....
This feeling of competition being counterintuitive can play a BIG part in your course, membership or any gamification project.
Not everyone enjoys competition, in fact, some people can find it very offputting.
And surely you don’t want your members, students or audience to be put off from the objective of your project by something as daft as competition!
Equally, not everyone likes to collaborate, some people are only motivated by competition.
This is why when we work with our clients we survey their audience to find out what kinds of people they are, and therefore how to build the right kind of gamification project to motivate them.
Intrigued?
