Here are some of my favourite outtakes from the story ‘Saving winter’ published in @natgeo. These are square crops which I hate to do but seems to display better on your cell phones ?
During the @natgeo assignment we also covered a remarkable story of the Rhone glacier. For over ten years it has been covered in white blankets every summer designed to protect it from the sun’s heat. The prime goal is to preserve the ice cave at the tongue of the glacier, one of
the Alps’ great tourist destinations.
The Alpine glaciers are disappearing due to global warming. If they all go, the look of the Alps will change for good.

I am excited to share the news that I have received a new grant from @insidenatgeo Global Storytellers Fund and their new collaboration with @theclimatepledge .
As a #NatGeoExplorer I will be continuing my work on the ‘Climate change resilience’ project highlighting the inspiring work of communities and scientists who try to fight climate change.
Learn about the fund and the projects it will support: link in bio.
Congratulations to my fellow grantees with whom I share this inaugural fund: @ashastuart , @miorarajaonary , @kiliiiyuyan and @lujanag
Thanks again to @insidenatgeo for their amazing support. Here are some moments from our project in Peru this month.

💛 🌏 🌍 🌎
What a week in Peru. We have been following some incredible adaptation approaches to the new realities. Peru is home to 70% of the world’s tropical glaciers, but 40% of their surface area has disappeared since the 1970s. The glaciers are a crucial water source in Peru, so people must adapt as they disappear. @insidenatgeo#peru#andes#climatechange#resilience
In Peru for 3 weeks on @natgeo assignment. We are working on a documentary film about climate change adaptation following some incredible locals from the Andes. It is my first time to South America and I am falling in love with the landscapes, people, food and culture... @insidenatgeo#natgeo#reselience#andes#cordillerablanca#climatechange
On Earth day today I want to share a very special and personal project. A trailer for my very first short documentary film Saving Glaciers!
It was such a beautiful journey to work on this film with cinematographer @maticek over several trips to the Swiss Alps. The film follows dr. Felix Keller who is on a mission to save the inevitable melting of glaciers in the Alps.
I met Felix for the first time on my @natgeo assignment in the Himalayas and he invited me to visit him in Switzerland to learn more about his scientific work.
Please watch the trailer at let me know your thoughts. It is now being selected and submitted to the festivals around the world. Stay tuned!
Also thanks for great work on this film to the rest of a dream team. Editor @angeloraaijmakers , sound designer @medvedovm , colorist @maticprusnik , production assistants @joris.keller , @klemen_skubic , @stefangrasic , @gian.luck , @chantal_hirt , @tentfilm , @katarinajaz , @ajduush .

Finally releasing the first one from a series of very special video stories that we created with @feelslovenia and @tentfilm . A poetic journey with amazing Rok Zalokar @vertical_adventures_slovenia and his family. We spent 2 days filming on some breathtaking locations in our backyard. I am really proud on TENT team and have to thank everyone for the heartfelt work on this one.
Join Rok Zalokar, an IFMGA Mountain guide, and his family in their outdoor adventures in Slovenia.
Thank you Rok, Petra and Ronja for being part of this video. It was an honour to spend some time with you all and produce this film.

This was one of the most incredible days on @natgeo assignment last year while working on a story Saving winter. Where tourists now walk on a suspension bridge, several hundred feet above a meltwater torrent, they used to walk across ice on the snout of Switzerland’s Trift Glacier! The lake didn’t exist before this century; the bridge was first built in 2004. The bridge is a simple suspension bridge design spanning 170 metres at a height of 100 metres.
A power company has begun the permitting process to build a new hydropower dam in this narrow gorge where the glacier once provided a natural bridge. As glaciers melt, many energy companies see opportunities to maximize hydropower output in the alps. It has been almost a year since I received the World Press Photo award with my series The Ice Stupas. A dream come true! That was one of the very highlights of my life journey as a storyteller. It was touching to see the work being exhibited worldwide in so many venues, museums and institutions. Thank you for all the support and to everyone who has seen the exhibitions. I am planning to continue with my work on climate change resilience and stories that are solution based and highlight some incredible endeavours around the world. @worldpressphoto@natgeo@insidenatgeo@wangchuksworld#WPP#theicestupas#natgeo#climatechangereselience
I am thrilled to have the latest cover story for Nature Conservancy Magazine @nature_org featuring the story on the River Krupa in Croatia. Local farmers, monks, hikers and more all rely on the protection of this beautiful freshwater system. Read their story by following the link in my bio and be sure to watch the short film that we also produced with @tentfilm . Thank you @alexsnyderphoto for great editing and support. And also thanks to @klemen_skubic, @maticek and @marko_lorenzo for their work ok the field.
Happy to finally share a very special project today on World Water Day - a short film that I directed for @nature_org about river Krupa in Croatia and why it is important to protect such rivers in the Balkans.
Thanks to the dream team @tentfilm that worked very hard to produce this film. I believe this is one of the most meaningful projects we have ever done.
Special thanks to @alexsnyderphoto and others from the TNC for trusting us with this work.
We travelled to Croatia twice last year and managed to connect with a really beautiful community living around this magical river and a hidden gem - river Krupa.
Please watch it in 4K on a bigger screen and follow link in the profile! 🙏

My new story from the magical greek island of Karpathos is live right now on @natgeo ! I discovered this island last summer because of my friend @andrazzan and felt in love immediately. It was one of those trips where all your senses are overwhelmed and you just surf on a wave of inspiring moments...
Thanks for a great editing to incredible @maurafriedman and @whitneycatherinejohnson .
Thanks to incredible Evangelia Marina Agapiou from @karpathosecotourism and @nejcbratusa for fantastic assistance.
